The value is in our favour yes but I would liken the trade to a Stillman + Kurashev for Kyazev. Stillman = Kahkonen value in this example, Kurashev = Dahlen value in this example and Knyazev = Beaudin value in this example.

I know its not the point though neither Dahlen or Kahkonen are as raw as Vlasic so replaced him with Stillman and Beaudin has a higher ceiling than Cicek and was a former high pick much like Knyazev.

Just saying it's a terrible trade value-wise for SJ. I know Chicago wanted Kahkonen in the Fleury deal but we gave up a rock solid emerging defenseman for him so we're not moving Kahkonen for a position that is not of need. LD is still our deepest position organizationally. Kahkonen last 5 starts behind a mostly rookie defense core: .921-.976-.923-.917-.964 so yeah I think Hill is more Chicago's speed. Dahlen is not available as we can re-sign him cheap with no arb rights.
