I’m worried SJ may sign Trotz.

Which is a blessing and a curse.

It could actually be a great move if he’s learned from his mistakes; and I think SJ management will be strict on punishing young players as they’ve clearly put a huge stock into Eklund, Bordeleau, and company coming in. Leading me to believe they won’t allow our new players to get punished easily; which Trotz may have learned from.

But…. Trotz is a dino and some old dogs don’t learn new tricks.

Yes. I haven’t watched too much of Whitecloud but is he solid defensively?

Hes pretty good defensive defenseman lets just say that

Should make for a nice third pair with Holden

From everything I've seen of him that's his best trait, which is why I want him on the sabres as our 3rd.

SJS is alright defensively though and good on the PK. So I dont think they need him

Now Winnipeg or Vancouver on the other hand might be wanting him for that very reason. Especially Wpg

Yeah but they need a coach to push them to the next step and squeeze the teams focus to the playoffs. Which I don’t hate Bob but I feel he’s better as the assistant coach. We need offence but our okay structure doesn’t need to change because the only reason we’ve been good defensively is because of Bob and the staff - we don’t have defensively elite players. I mean ideally I’d love Sutter because he’s a old coach who I think is a quality hire but he’s got a good gig. I’m not sure I want Trotz but it does seem like a potential landing spot; which is why I’m assessing the scenario.

Here is my prediction for where each big free agent coach and tough coach goes

Trotz: Winnipeg
Boudreau: NYI
Deboar (once fired): Vancouver
Torts: Philadelphia

Could just try to steal Boudreau from Vancouver should the NYI decide not to

As it seems Ruterford isnt serious about bringing him back. As if he was he would give him a better contract

Same, but at the same time I feel him going = Scheifele leaving

As does anyone see Scheifele committing to defense in any way shape or form. Besides a dirty hit from time to time.

I feel he’s staying in VAN. If they axe him I think that’s a bad move.

NHL Draft Lottery tomorrow! @Bobcat205 are you hoping that Chicago's pick moves up for the unprotected 2023 1st?

Hoping the sabres can jump to 2! That would be awesome, grab Nemec and at 16 and wherever FLA is forwards.

Cant remember the name of ANA coach but if he can keep the team going all year and they improve overall they’re a great team to bet on.

Some great interviews have come from the coach of ANA.

I wouldn't mind #2 either but the Ducks' odds are too low anyway.

Trust me Dallas Eakins is not a good NHL coach. His mistakes aren't highlighted as much because Anaheim is a small market. I like him aside from the game itself, he seems like a really nice guy and he seems to get along with his players really well in the locker room. At least as long as his lineup choices don't ruin a player's chances of making an impact, then I'm not sure the players get along with him as well anymore. His lineup choices are the worst part, they're just incredibly stupid, among the worst in the league. Most Ducks fans didn't like that Verbeek activated the extra year on Eakins' contract. Hopefully it's because Verbeek's guy isn't available at the moment.

The success to start the season wasn't because of Eakins, it was despite of Eakins.

Not really, actually

David Jiricek will likely end up available at 6, and i've had my eye on him for a long while.

Chicago is gonna end up being purely terrible, maybe enough to get #1. We would be foolish to pass on Connor Bedard, but at the same time we don't need much help at C with Cole Sillinger and Kent Johnson getting larger roles next season. The smartest move in terms of team needs would be taking another defenceman (Hunter Brzustewicz) or a goalie (nobody of note).

That's not to say that i would be unhappy if we land Bedard, but we have other places to fill before Center.

let's hope that there are more Latvian goalies in the draft because we have to keep the meme going

Don’t watch the Ducks game so makes sense if you see it differently than me.

He just sounded great over the radio. Would be it overall poor coaching or more of just those in game decisions/ line ups?
