Big Bad Bruins 2023 Lineup

Description
Some thoughts to add some more toughness to the Bruins lineup.

Sounds like Mark Scheifele is out in Winnipeg. Would be a great pick up for the Bruins. Send a leader like Foligno to the possibly rebuilding Jets, alongside two players who many would argue are NHL-ready and a first rounder. Foligno is sent over to offset cap.

I dont see Bergeron retiring. Bergron should be getting paid anywhere from 4.5m-5.5m. I think that he will take a discount as well. Sign him for one year.

Bruins should resign many of their minor leaguers, as well as Lazar. Lazar should see an increase due to his play this year. Been one of the few brightspots in the bottom six.

Debrusk should be traded this summer. I think he fits the Kings very well with his speed and skill. The Kings are very small and fast, they play a quick game too. Ship Debrusk over there and get some picks in return for him. Add on Wagner who plays a decent two way game and can be a bottom six forward for them. I think that Debrusk can be a consistent 20-25 goal scorer if put in a good situation.

Reilly seems to be the odd man out between all the defense that Boston has. Send him to the Islanders where Chara and Greene may retire or play elswhere. Islanders need some LD.

With the Blues tight up against the cap, the Bruins should be all in on David Perron. He plays a great, pesky, physical game that would benefit the Bruins greatly. I wouldnt sign him for long term but definitely give him a fair AAV.

(Just for fun)
Send Forbort to the Ducks where he can eat up even more PK minutes.

Bruins sign Zadorov who plays a hard and physical game, as well as taking Forborts place.

Replace Ahcan with Lysell.

Foligno is older than Scheifele and less skilled, so the Jets should get someone younger who projects to be close to Scheifele's offensive numbers.

Winnipeg's defense prospects are all LS; they don't want another; especially one as small as Ahcan.

Debrusk isn't going to be where the Kings spend their 1st round picks. At least, it's not where I would spend them if I was LA's GM.

You are a long ways off on the schieffle trade.

A cap dump, a 5'8" 25yr old AHL defenseman, a 23yr old prospect with a ceiling of a 3rd liner, and a 1st that is 2yrs out. In exchange for a 1C with salary retention.

There is probably zero chance Winnipeg retains on Scheifele and takes back a cap dump, two low end players and a 1st 2 drafts from now.

Asking for salary retention for 2 years is going to cost a 1st round pick on it's own, then you need to add the value of the player.

Carlo, DeBrusk and Lysell for 55 + something. I don't see anything else that would be of interest for the Jets that would reasonably be moved.

Top 4 RD with term, RHS winger prospect with upside and then the guy that asked for a trade. Don't really care if DeBrusk is included or not but he does have value and we would take him IMO.

Foligno doesn't waive for Winnipeg. Now if Debrusk was in the trade, I think it's fair.
Kings who have cap aren't giving up all that for two third liners.

I mean I think Scheifele is overrated as hell, but that's not even getting WPG to answer the phone. This team needs to get younger and you swap DeBrusk for Perron and pay him more money. Wagner can be sent to the minors and all but about $225k comes off their cap.

Scheifele isn’t what he used to be but I still doubt you get him without Lysell in the package

For a variety of reasons I really believe Bergeron will be retiring after this season. Wish it were different but I think the time has come.
