This has been the worst defensive game the Capitals have played all year, and that says something. Carlson for this game has been his type of play all year, and his line has cost the capitals this game. Dumb turnovers, nowhere to be seen on entries, he’s been garbage. This game will be given as a great effort by Florida when they received some of the biggest luck in momentum in play I’ve seen in a while. Fehervary was also quite poor, making rookie mistakes in over-pursuit and going down far too soon. Samsonov had another good preformancd wasted by this team.

I see two outcomes moving forward. Either Game 6 is like Game 5 vs Boston last year, or Game 6 vs Tampa in 2018. No In Between.

Also I really hate the narrative that this series in 3-1 or 3-2 if Hathaway takes more time. Anyone who says that must not understand that Ekblad could have kept it in the zone if Hathaway took any longer.

The panthers have outplayed the Caps in 3 of the 5 games. The caps dominated game 1, but the Panthers have been the better team for the most part the last 4 games. plus the refs have benefitted Washington. panthers deserve to be up in the series.

Trouba should be suspended at least 3 games, attempt to injure is not good at all.

So no they didnt outplay Washington. Its just mostly been luck which seemingly loves to bail them out. Will give them the third period in game 5 but so far Washington has been tin control for the most part keeping Florida's PP at 0 and making Florida's defense look very iffy at times.

Tonight 3 of Floridas goals came in the 2nd period, and all 3 were off of high danger scoring chances, so that's not luck. In the 2nd period of tonight's game high danger scoring chances were 6 to 4 in favor of Florida.

Game 4 the caps were outplayed in every period including overtime, they had no business being in that game. Samsonov was very good.

I'd much prefer these ones. We wouldn't lose two great teams from MIN, STL, TB or TOR in the first round because they'd have to face each other so early. This would lead to more quality in games as we go forth.
