2) Wouldn't give a 1st for Kakko
3) Very much doubt Isles would accept that
4) Schmidt isn't getting you a 2nd + WPG won't be retaining any cap IMO
5) Why would you trade Pionk, we need that RHD more than Garland
6) Very good but I doubt Marchessault is the player VGK are going to get rid off (+ the return isn't good for them)

I like Rodrigues and his signing

None of the trades are good for the Jets.

Kakko isn't worth Stanley alone, no chance the Jets add their 1st.

The Jets aren't retaining on Wheeler and he isn't waiving for New York.

The Jets aren't retaining on Schmidt.

The Jets aren't retaining on Pionk and trading him for a bottom 6 winger they don't need.

The Jets have no need for an expensive rental winger like Marchessault.

Kakko is worth more than Stanley. But rangers decline that anyways.

I could see WPG retaining a bit on wheeler if a trade was an option for him. But islanders aren’t making that deal.

The Schmidt deal doesn’t make much sense. Detroit fans have said for a while they’d take Schmidt and his full deal for a 3rd.

I don’t hate the Pionk to VAN deal as the jets could use another top 6 forward, but it just creates a bigger hole on D so doesn’t make a ton of sense.

The idea Wheeler wouldn’t waive for NY seems odd, but I don’t think this offer is remotely fair to the Isles anyway

I don't agree on Kakko. A couple good games in the playoffs doesn't raise his stock that much. Defenseman are always more valuable than wingers of the same level.

It doesn't make sense retaining that much on Wheeler and paying Mayfield. The Jets would in effect be paying almost $5mil for Mayfield. Wheeler won't waive or be moved anyway.

The Jets aren't retaining on Schmidt is what I meant.

Garland is okay, but he's definitely not worth moving Pionk for. There's a pretty good chance at 26 that this is a career, outlier year for Garland and that he reverts back to his normal 40 point self. That means he has a bad contract. Plus the Jets need Pionk far more than Garland.

I don't think Wheeler will waive for anywhere or that the Jets will even ask him to.

Detroit declines, we have no cap problems so you're not getting paid for a retention. A 3rd is the counter-offer.
