Ive been debating a JP to Toronto trade as Toronto just has this weird ability next to Tampa to rebound guys like this

Now is it 100% guaranteed to work no

Does Edmonton want to trade with Toronto idk

But got to think they are one of the top 5 teams

As for where I actually think he ends up

Carolina the return.... ETHAN BEAR

I really hope this is the one the Sens win. It’s super nice to be in on Fiala and DeBrincat (and guys like that I’d take in a heartbeat), but I still have my doubts about the Sens shelling out big money even after Melnyk’s passing. This would just be a smart move with a low acquisition cost and not force Dorion to break the bank. Seems like the perfect move to indicate things are moving in the right direction without going all in yet.

No Taylor Hall

As honestly to me Strome for Eberle wasnt as bad as Hall for Larsson

He’s a Connor Brown replacement for cheaper and more term but he’s not our top 6 acquisition

What in the actual hell is in the water in Edmonton that mandates the Oilers must lose at least one trade per summer. I can't stand this goddamn team sometimes.

Don’t forget they then proceeded to sell low on the guy they got in that trade with the Islanders 🙃

Its like Holland has a brain fart every summer and then in the press conference makes the fanbase want to strangle him

But then he compensates with a strong draft only for that guy who he traded to come back and score on him

Cant wait to see Jesse P for Connor Brown 1for1 (and Brown then walks next year and signs a massive ticket)

The last Oilers GM that didn't lose an offseason trade (off the top of my head at least) was Steve Tambellini and that's only because he never actually did anything. Like there's a minimum of one per year for like the last 10 years I can't stand it.

At this point I’d take it as an oilers fan. I think the return is going to be worse, like two 3rds and a 4th liner

And on Spooner too. That entire Chris Pronger trade tree absolutely stinks for Oilers fans.

Is it a strong draft if he passes on the clear BPA that fills a major need for his team to draft a very good player (and arguably 2nd or 3rd BPA in hindsight) but not the pick that even an idiot would and should have made?

How much do you think Barrie and Poolparty are pulling in a trade?

Hes found some late round guys here and there so I will give him a semi pass for that

The only thing I wont give him in terms of drafting is passing on Jesper Wallstedt via trading down

I know who Holland drafted but they didnt need more forwards what they needed is a goalie and Wall to me was the future and the goalie they needed in their system

I feel like Joseph is more of the Connor Brown replacement as the jack of all trades type. I see him and Formenton quickly becoming our 2 most important PKers tbh (with guys like Kelly, Kastelic, and Watson picking up some PKing too, although ideally one of Norris/Pinto steps up as well so we have a centre that can kill penalties). Pulju would be just a typical middle six guy, but I think putting him on the 2nd line with the sole job of digging pucks out of the corner for Stutzle and then parking his 6’4” ass in front of the goalie would be a good way to use him.

Normal NHL GMs: Oh you want to trade for this mid tier third liner on our team? It’s gonna be a first round pick and a prospect.
Ken Holland: yeah take this playdriving top 6 forward of our team I need to spend money on dmen like Cody Ceci and Duncan Keith. I’ll take a bag of Doritos and a third round pick

Ken Holland is the type of guy who prefers Lays chips because there’s air in them.

Apparently the mantra around Puljujarvi is “the play dies when he gets the puck on his stick” and “even McDavid and Draisaitl can’t turn him into a top sixer.” The Oilers would be “lucky to get a 2nd for him, he’s worth more like a 3rd” and “if they get offered a 2nd for him they should take it immediately.” Watch him score 30 on his new team lol
