Except the fact that he basically requested a trade after Minnesota signed fleury yesterday…
I knew as soon as Fleury signed Talbot was like k im out
As he probs thought k this guys a rental and I only got to work with him for this long and...oh hes back and oh hes probs gonna be the starter next year
K lets go to a team where I got a better shot at being the #1 or where I can at least play 45 games
So did every NHL team just forget that Jack Sparkes and Servac Petrovsky were still on the board? I definitely did. I thought they’d be gone 3 or 4 rounds ago.
You mean Chicago right? Why would either Cup-contender want him even with retention when you have Campbell and Kuemper available?
There are 2 contenders needing goalies and 2 big-time UFA's. It's pretty much down to that; now that Edmonton has cap space they might even trade with Colorado for Kuemper's 5 days of rights forcing Toronto to re-sign Campbell or start over with another goalie.
There’s way more than just 2 teams going after those 2. Someone is gonna settle with Murray at 50% retention to form a tandem goalie

Oh I'm sure; I just don't see them having mutual interest unless they want to just cash in their checks without competing for the Cup again (ala Matt Murray).
I guess Talbot becomes one of the next best options for Edmonton/Toronto or for Florida if they deal Bobrovsky.
I don't think he is being realistic about getting a full-time starter job for a contender. He played his best after they acquired Fleury proving that he needs to be pushed.
Actually, given what went down last night, that sounds about right. @BeterChiarelli Excellent name choice for this thread
I wish I could've been here for all the reactions, but life calls.
I did get to listen to the draft, and my jaw dropped when the Habs took Slafkovsky. But hey, I knew there was a chance that would happen. I calmed down
Then I literally screamed in shock when NJD took Nemec. I texted someone "Coyotes must be celebrating-they'll get Shane Wright after all!"
AND THEN THEY TOOK COOLEY. I was literally gasping for breath. Wow, what a night.
Morrison and Devine are my top 2, could go either way.
Those two are definitely surprising, along with Jere Lassila, Ruslan Gazizov, and Miguel Tourigny. There’s also still a few goalies I like in Hugo Havelid, Thomas Milic, and Brett Brochu. James Fisher to Columbus is a pretty good pick though.

I have Milic as the number 1 goalie left, after watching his WHL playoffs where he was the reason they made the WHL finals vs Edmonton, but idk if he makes the NHL.
Love that we have had multiple Dyck’s get taken though.

LA lowkey underrated at drafting. I’m pretty sure they only had 4 picks last year and nailed them all, and then they pick up some nice steals tonight in Salin and Sparkes. Plus Hughes was a perfectly good pick with their only selection in the first 3 rounds. Not bad.
Murray goes to Chicago as when you factor in Mrazek the chances for Bedard go through the roof as Chicago probs gonna be on its #4 or 5 before January
Talbot goes to Washington
And then Campbell and Kuemper either end up in Toronto or Edmonton (ring around the rosy at this point)
As for Buffalo they sign Holtby to a 1 year deal
Interesting.
I say:
Kuemper to Toronto (after they trade for his UFA rights)
Campbell to Edmonton
Talbot to Buffalo
Holtby to Washington
Lankinen to St. Louis
Comrie to Minnesota
Lindgren to New York

I'd also give honorable mentions to BUF and DAL. I like their selections too.
