Edmonton will be punished for poaching Campbell as soon as the Leafs and Lightning fess up to their cap circumventions.

Quit worrying about it.

well.... at least one of the Lightning fessed up to their cap circumvention

I wonder and this is just me speculating

Colorado trades Girard to the NYI to make room for a Kadri extension

Kind of a thank you for giving us Toews kind of thing

they may trade girard somewhere but i think nyi is out after the romanov trade. i think the habs would be interested.

i mean the habs do have edmundson, guhle, norlinder, harris all that could make the NHL next year but honestly girard might not be a bad idea, dont know what we'd give up tho. maybe something around norlinder/harris + picks?

honestly for girard it would have to be a big package. norlinder and harris aren't good enough pieces.

girard would probably be the habs top ld for the next 3-5 years. the depth pieces will have to sort themselves out.

Per The Athletic

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Athletic that Dubois attended the NHL Draft in Montreal because he believed a trade would be completed on the draft floor. As first reported by Radio-Canada’s Martin Leclerc, Montreal offered three players to the Jets in hopes of securing Dubois’ rights.

It is believed that Winnipeg is holding up the deal in an effort to secure a player Montreal has no interest in moving.

This could be why Brisson is trying to increase the pressure.

For Dubois, it’s as simple as wanting to play in Montreal.

I have a big suspicion that Dach isn't going to play a single game in Montreal.

Either him, Barron or Guhle is probably the piece MTL doesn't want to move

Saw someone say on twitter (not a good source) that Dach was apparently going to be the main piece going to Winnipeg for PLD, but that WPG changed their mind after intially saying yes, but Montreal did the deal anyways.

It's been a very slow news day thus far. You'd think some GM's would take advantage of the remaining free agency to improve their teams...

Do you guys think the remaining UFA's would make the playoffs if they were a team?

I figured something bigger was going on as with MTL going for Dach I was like ok they will then package him for PLD

Kind of like what they tried to do with KK 2 years ago but once again WPG be like nah we gonna screw ourselves again

Well at any rate they will trade Scheifele and PLD for guys who wont want to stay and the endless cycle of misery will continue

No

As the goaltending options arent great. Cant count Holtby as he aint playing this season

Forward core would be nice though

Stasny-Kadri-Nied
Pitlick-Rodrigues-Heinen
Donato-Stepan-Milano
Larsson-Eakin-Gagner

Extras: Rask, Sprong,

Not counting Berg as I got a feeling hes signing with Boston any day now

I guess we'd have to turn off injuries because without Holtby, really there are just 3rd string goalies and AHL goalies left.

Niederreiter - Kadri - Kessel
Pitlick - Bergeron - Rodrigues
Stastny - Gagner - Milano
Janmark - Larsson - Dahlen

Yandle - Klingberg
Chara - Stralmann
Del Zotto - Subban

Holtby - Hammond

Where would this team finish?

If I go by parts, Forward core can compete for a cup, Dcore would cause to many issues and the defensive deficiencies would outweigh the production and give Bergeron headaches and most likely overwork him to LTIR, goaltending would heavily depend on Holtby. So at best a WC team but realistically outside playoffs.

From what I am hearing on both Kadri and Klingberg

Kadri is most likely going to CGY and Klingberg has been heavily linked to DET

Are we about to see another Yzerman L
