Canucks pass. They don’t want Kerfoot or Holl, as they have little value to the Canucks. Maybe they can be taken back to make cap space work, but the Canucks would need at least one more good piece. If they are giving up Schenn as well then they would absolutely need Liljegren coming back, and probably want him either way

always thought Bjorkstrand would be great on the Leafs. Too bad they have cap issues

to get Nylander? Nylander is the better player but is signed to less term and higher aav. Leafs need the cap space and Bjorkstrand is solid defensively also.

It’s probably best if the leafs keep Nylander and Seattle keeps what they have

Chacun son gout, but Nylander >> Bjorkstrand so not sure why leaf’s would do this? And I just don’t see burning need for JT Miller - we have elite offensive talent already and are cap strung so rather see us focus on some value (low price, high delinking) forwards. plus 8 year deal for a 30 year old would make me nervous.

lol good point, you also gave up Nylander to do it. Imagine they could somehow have Marner, Willy, and Bjorkstrand on that right side

Probably. I was not a huge fan of the lack of effort Nylander gave a few times in the playoffs this year. One battle in the corner and he clearly quit on an empty net goal. He is stupid talented but he doesn't have an all out mindset. I always thought he did in big moments, but this year proved other wise to me. Marner and Matthews on the other hand NEVER stopped.

I would personally try to move Nylander for a full on worker, even if they are slightly less talented.

Seattle would be a very exciting team with Nylander. That is for sure!

For sure! This team with Miller though is insanely good though. He could be top 6 left wing or 2nd or 3rd line centre. So many options. He is a beast.

This team I listed would be incredibly hard to play against. Much harder than they are now.

I thought Muzzin was still a quality top four defenseman, but he just cost too much for the Leafs to fit? Why is he a scratch in your lineup?

He definitely is. That's part of why people trade him all the time. We have Reilly who is clearly a number 1 dmen. We have Gio who played great last year and paired well with Lily. And we have Sandin who is young and talented. We want to give Sandin a permanent spot.

Didn't love Muzzin and Lily last year. So I am keeping Gio and Lily together since they were great. Rielly Brodie has been a wonderful pairing since inception. Sandin with Schenn or with Muzzin (if Muzzin tries the right).

I am not too sure how the D will play out. Ultimately, they have 7 really good dmen here, so I am not too worried it. (same would be true if we keep Holl)

Muzzin + Brodie was also a good pair last year.

We will see! That's why I don't have him in the scratch section. The lines can play out a lot of different ways.

I assume it will be:

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Lily
Sandin-Muzzin

(2nd and 3rd pairing can be interchangeable and will play similar minutes)

Canucks don’t have the cap space but even if they did, it’s an underwhelming return to say the least. Especially with retention.

Priority right now is to re-sign miller

Very easy No from Vancouver. I’d be disappointed with that as a fan

First of all, Canucks pass. Kerfoot and Holl are not appealing. If they are worth something, how about the Leafs keep them and trade them.

Secondly, if you are trading for Miller, maybe play him in a position where he can succeed? I have a tough time seeing how Miller is supposed to continue to put up point per game numbers while playing with Engvall and Jarnkrok

Giving up a first and Bjorkstrand for Nylander and a 2nd makes 0 sense. I’m not even sure Nylander is the better player and he certainty doesn’t have a better contract. That being said Columbus was stupid af to trade Bjorkstrand for scraps.

Canucks might be overestimating the value of J.T. Miller or he would already been moved. His 99 points season is 27 more points than his 2nd best year and 43 points better than his 3rd best season. Last year's 32 goals gave him his first 30 goal season. He does add a physical element but does he stickup for his teammates idk?

They essentially traded Bjorkstrand for Gaudreau, which is less stupid.

The market has been set teams trying to dump salary to become cap compliant. McDonagh, Pacioretty, and now Bjorkstrand, all still really good players, were all given away for nothing. IMO, Columbus did well to get back a couple draft picks. It could have been future considerations like Patches.

Bjorkstrand is way younger than every other player on that list

Doesn't matter. None of them are showing signs of slowing down. McDonagh was in the conversation for the Conn Smythe trophy just 12 months ago.

GM's aren't dumb. There's only so many teams left with enough cap space to absorb a huge cap hit like that, so the market for a player like that is limited.
