Montreal should decline. Dubois is a drama queen and is NOT good enough to make up for his piss poor attitude

The cost for Arizona to retain would be significantly higher. You are asking them to eat 8 mil in cap and 7 mil in real money. That's going to have a significant cost not the bottom of the barrel stuff offered here. That's 1st round picks/good prospects type of retention you are asking for and that's before you even consider adding Crouse to the deal.

MTL passes
Waiting until next year makes more sense
Caufields deal will be done allowing us to see whats left.
Dvorak will have his reputation rebound if he plays 1/2 as good under MSL as last year
If he puts up the 18 pts in 22 with 57% win rate fresh off IR with a new coach type production
MTL might actually get back its 1st and 2nd
Then we can flip that to WPG

The value’s not far off on the Montreal deal but at this point it just makes sense for the Habs to wait a year and get Dubois for cheaper.

Devils easily decline. Severson is worth way more than moving up like 10 spots in the draft and Tyler Myers

Those trades are terrible for Arizona, Vancouver, and NJ.

Everyone declines, think the Jets are stuck with Wheeler.

I think it's far off, especially when we can just be patient 2 more years.

I think waiting till he's a free agent makes more sense.
But I agree with the rest you said.

Calgary just signed Zadorov. Why would they trade him and 3 licks for Dillon and a 1st!? Terrible trade for Calgary, unless that pick is unprotected, and you're selling the farm

It is far off, Dach has the potential to be PLD at a cheaper cap hit, Dvorak produces at just under PLD's career average. Dubois career average ppg is .66 equating to 54 points per season. Dvorak's career ppg is .50 which equates to 41 points per season. So now you have 2 middle 6 centers with one who is young enough to still become PLD's equal but the total points differential going to the Jets is more than the points lost from PLD as Dvorak produces about 40 points per year and Dach produces about 25 points per season which equals 65 points per season and since PLD's career high is only 61 points the total production and potential increase heavily favours the Jets. Add to that that we give up a top 4 RHD and a 1st and a 4th, yeah that is a massive overpayment!!!

I think alot depends on the way Dach and Dvorak progress this year.

In this environment, I don't think that any team is going to pay a third-round draft pick to take Schmidt's huge cap hit off your hands.
