Feels so good seeing Ottawa not in the bottom of these lists. It's all thanks to the San Jose Sharks

Hard to keep track of all 32 lineups. You all would know better than me…

Thought they wanted Cozens at LW1, no?
So Miller at C, Pettersson at LW?
Staal as 4C….was really just giving props to Drury here.

Cozens has never played LW in the NHL, I’m not really sure why they have him listed as one. Skinner is LW 1 on the Sabres.

If Jordan Staal plays a single game at 4C this season, I will personally give you the AAV of Jack Hughes contract. If he plays 4C minutes, it will mean Kotkaniemi and Necas (not Drury) have found success down the middle and Carolina's C core will be the best in the NHL. Staal's defensive play rivals Bergerons. He doesn't have the offensive base numbers, but his play driving is incredible. He's still a very good 3C. Overpaid for inability to produce, but that 10 year deal ends this year.

Miller and Pettey didn't play together 5 on 5 much, Pettey was our #1C Miller #2C and Horvat was #3C

Didn’t Pettersson play some 3LW this year? I think he was there when NJD went to VAN

He played about 100 mins at wing this year on, compared to his 402 minutes at center, even when they stacked the top line with Miller - Pettersson - Boeser it usually was Pettersson playing center, Miller also played close to 300 minutes at center as well

Florida over rated. Barkov legit but Bennet - meh. Lundell looks good but still young. Not even top 5, barely top 10 imo

Hintz is our number one centre, he’s a top 20-25 centre in the league. After that you’ve got Seguin, Benn/Peterson/Dellandrea, and lastly Faksa.

Maybe, but he’s still young. His gpg (0.27) and ppg (0.67) were ok but not great. His FO % was abysmal. Again young player that looks good but has a lot to show before he can be placed in 2nd best centre corps in league. Bennett is nothing special so no way Florida has the 2nd best centres; maybe in a few years (if Lindell fulfills your promise) but not today

Florida way too high. Bennett has had one good season (not even great) while playing with Huberdeau in a top offensive system. Also, Sens, Ducks, Wild, Kraken are too high imo. Islanders and Rangers could move up. Can't put Mercer with NJD if you don't put Miller and Staal on their teams.

Pettersson played 1089:04 at 5v5 in 21-22, so you're leaving a LOT of minutes unaccounted for.

You realize that P/GP of 0.67 is solidly a 2nd line rate, right? So they've got an elite 1st line C and two good 2nd line C's - that gives them a nearly unbeatable trio.

You realize that P/GP of 0.67 is solidly a 2nd line rate, right? So they've got an elite 1st line C and two good 2nd line C's - that gives them a nearly unbeatable trio.

Unbeatable trio tears of joy ?
Not saying they are bad, but no way they are second overall. Barkov is elite but Bennett and lundell are just average (although lundell has high ceiling so he May get better) - their f/o%s are also terrible.
Leafs, Bolts, Pens, Blues are all better (as a start).

Faceoff percentages are among the least important stats in the game of hockey.
Winning a faceoff has on average close to zero predictability power as to whether the team scores or get scored on in that same sequence.
Faceoffs literally do not matter.

By and large this is correct. There are critical faceoffs that DO matter, but those are highly situational and account for only a small percentage of the total.
