-Casey's not lived up to his draft pedigree, and has missed time, but over the past 2 seasons he's played 81 games and put up 16-25-41. Pretty decent for a middle-6 guy, IMO. Stanley is actually a 1st rounder from the year *before* Mittelstadt, so if anything he's closer to "bust" territory. I think it's an interesting challenge trade, but since Buffalo is giving up a player who's put up -some- numbers I'd think Winnipeg kicks in a better pick.
-I get that you're retaining a ton on Wheeler, but he's 36, mostly controls his destiny (only a 5-team trade list), and still costs 2x$4.125M with the retention. It's a big hit for a team where the Parise/Suter buyout penalty somehow gets -worse- next year, and to send out a strong prospect in Calen Addison *and* a 2023 1st is a big price to pay for a guy on the wrong side of 35. I think the Wild pass and use Addison as a dangle for a more affordable forward, if anything.
-I think Pittsburgh rejects this one. For one, they don't have the cap for Hellebuyck, even with Jarry going out, and second, I don't think the upgrade from Jarry to Hellebuyck is worth two prospects and a 1st. Not saying Helle isn't a strong trade chip, just that Pittsburgh isn't the right spot. I could see a team like New Jersey, if they're kicking around contention but still scuffling in goal, offering a package like this for Helle (except now you're getting back Mackenzie Blackwood instead of Tristan Jarry).
-Dillon's not a cap dump, but a 31 year old with 2x$3.9M isn't the type of player Anaheim should be targeting. I think they'll take him with a prospect they like in Kovacevic, but they're not going to send a strong asset back for him. If you're looking to flip Dillon, I'd do so at the deadline, when you can sell a dependable, physical LHD with two playoff runs in him as a good asset to a contender, as opposed to kind of dumping him with a good prospect for a future pick here.
