Talking about a pathetic offer for Cale Makar, I wouldn't even give up Moritz Sedider for those pieces. Let alone Makar.

It’s a pathetic offer, but for Seider? An unprotected Montreal 2023 first could very easily be a top 3 pick

I wouldn't give up Mo Seider for Connor Bedard, That's how good Seider will be.

You don't have to.

It's a lot hard to get a elite franchise RHD than an elite franchise type Center like Connor Bedard.

It’s a lot easier to get a franchise RD then a generational player. I know Seider is good but it’s Bedard. He’s putting up better numbers then McDavid

The probelm is it is not a guarentee that it will be a top 3 pick and not a guarentee it will be a top pick. You could trade Seider and get the fourth pick and then you are screwed.

Then you have a bunch or prospects and you just lost your cornerstone RHD. Wings have alot of talent, which may or not pan out, but you know what you think is a top RHD, why play such a dangerous game as you come out of a rebuild.

Makar is established defenseman and is going no where. The offer is quite decent but they are not considering trading him And Wings beleive that have a top performing player also, now time will tell, but for either team is makes zero sense.

This manages to be both something that Colorado would swat away AND something that could conceivably end up going horribly, devastatingly wrong for Montreal if it somehow went through. That my friends, is a world class balancing act. I approve of this AGM, as wrong as it may be in real life.

And there is a decent chance that pick will not be 1st. If OColorado said yes you just acquired a top defensman that could play in Montreal for a decade.

Lets just say the pick is #1. Would you trade Seider for that pick (Bedard)?

For that pick, probably not. I know or think I know what I have in Seider and Bedard is a special prospect, but again it is a prospect. We have seen 1st overall.picks flame out, and maybe so does Seider but at least I have some history to k ow what I have. Seider is a building block and a damn important one at that,

As it stands I wouldn’t give up Seider for Bedard. After all, Bedard hasn’t made the NHL yet, and for all we know, he could just end up as another Yakupov. Is it even remotely likely that happens, no, but it still remains a possibility. That being said, assuming Bedard is what he is projected to be at the NHL level, I would happily give up Seider for Bedard.

Some guys you just can’t get enough for, what Makar brings the ability to change a whole game by himself is limited to what maybe 10 guys in the NHL can do. A whole lot of quantity including someone they traded away doesn’t move the needle to even consider accepting.

Retain 50% on Suzuki, add your other 2023 1st round pick, and then we can talk. At that point you're handing Colorado another Stanley cup, and a bargain 2C for 7 years, so hard to say no

even if the habs finish last its only like a 25% chance at picking 1st. plus habs like to go off the board with their 1st overall pick.

Would you rather have Matthews or Fox, because that's kind of what we're comparing here. Bedard looks like a guy who can be the 2nd best player in the world (no one will pass Mcdavid), and Sieder absolutley has the potential to be the best or 2nd best D (Makar in a tier by himself imo). You take Bedard all day over Sieder

Hilarious take

I hate the Habs but they wouldn't trade that package for Seider with a 10-foot pole

Talk about delusional

People are forgetting that there is Juraj Slafkovsky (a top pick), Kaiden Guhle (future #1 damn) and Nick Suzuki (a future elite center) and a Bedard-lite player. I would definitely give Seider for this package. Makar... I don't know
