At the time of the signing, Weegar is a much better player than all 4 of those D. I like the AAV, obviously the term is a risk. Takes him to his age 37 season.

People really need to realize that Calgary doesn’t give a sh*t about how any of their contracts look longer than 3 years down the line lmao, our window is right now, and by 2025 we’ll likely be aging out of contender status. It’s cup or bust for the next few seasons and then a scorched earth rebuild.

My prediction for Calgary is Weegar gets extended and then Kylington gets traded for a winger. Dont know who yet but I feel of the 2 keeping Weegar is the smart idea

That seems like more of a deadline move tbh, seeing how we just signed Kylington. He’s also on an incredible steal of a deal for the next two years. I would be wanting to get either a true impact winger (i.e. Kane) or someone with a few years of term/team control, preferably around the same age (i.e. Meier) if we were to move him. Obviously Calgary would add, but he’s an appealing trade chip for anyone that isn’t at the very bottom of their rebuild curve right now.

Thats probs the plan move Kylington for a good wing in a 1 for 1 or in a big package for Kane.

Heck maybe its a mid season trade if Chicago bites the bait
