Crazy values all over here:
-Minnesota just *gave away* a perfectly serviceable Dmitry Kulikov for free because they have too many LDs on their roster. It doesn't make any sense to trade for another, and that's before you get to the fact that you have the Wild giving up their first round picks from 2021 & 2022 and a 2nd this year. Easy pass for Minny.
-Chych needs to prove that the bubble season where he looked like a Norris contender isn't an outlier at this point - otherwise he's a fine LD1/2 on a fair contract, not a superstar on a bargain deal. If he gets back to that level, maybe Ottawa parts with Pinto/1st/3rd, but the extra 1st and 2nd is overkill. Chych hasn't proven he's worth a superstar payment yet.
-You'd be permanently on Mike Grier's Christmas card list if you did him this favor. Even if we forget Vlasic's NMC, he's still owed 4x$7M (with $27M in real money owed still!) and is 35 years old. Look at the cap dumps Arizona took back in the recent past - Andrew Ladd, for instance, looked just as washed as Vlasic and was only owed 2x$5.5M - the Coyotes got a pair of 2nds & a conditional 3rd for him. San Jose parts with *at least* at 1st if they're trying to dump Vlasic's contract.
-Sure? I'll defer to Kings fans but if Bjugstad & Fischer play well, I could see a deal like this playing out. Probably would do better to ship them each out individually and try and get a player & a mid-rounder back, but to each their own.
-Pump the brakes here. Boston doesn't have a ton of sure shot prospects, but Lysell is probably at the top of the heap. I cannot see them, in any situation, trading him for Nick friggin' Ritchie. I don't think Ritchie's a bum or anything, but he's clearly a 30 point player. You don't trade guys like Lysell for bottom-6 guys like Ritchie. Boston easily passes on this one.
-I think Arizona would say no on this Penguins trade - Josh Brown & Mark Friedman are probably equal in value (both 6th/7th RHD), but Chad Ruhwedel is a 32 year old RHD signed 2x$800K - he's not really an asset that Arizona should be targeting if they're liquidating their useful players. Travis Boyd popped off last year, turning into a decent middle-6 player. His deal is very affordable for a middle-6 guy, which is why I think you get more than this package back if you're shopping him. Not saying it's gonna be a 1st++ coming back for him, but I think a mid-tier prospect & a 3rd rounder is a fair value for him.
