Habs fans sparked the fire with all these fake Anderson-to-NJ rumors (Hughes, Nemec, two 1sts, etc).

Devils fans are extinguishing them with common sense counter-offers.

It’s really about how much we would be willing to give to upgrade Bastian. A little salary and a couple mid-picks seem worthwhile. Anderson is basically a right-handed Miles Wood.

I still don’t even like Anderson at that cap hit lol. If he’s not in the top 9 (which he shouldn’t be on this team) there is no reason to aquire him. Though imo this is at best Anderson’s value, a guy with 5 goals and 2 assists on the season.

Now this is an actual, fairly realistic, (albeit on the high side) depiction of Anderson's "value". I still think Jersey fans would be pulling their hair out over the next few seasons realizing that you are still paying Anderson 4.25, 5.25 and 4.25 over the next 3 years, even with the retention. That really turns your stomach.

He has value just not top 10 pick value like Habs fans think. I could see a dumb GM giving up a late first for him

Retention would probably drive the price to at least a 2nd though tbf

a) 2nd round pick
b) 3rd and 4th round picks
c) Bastian and mid pick

Would I still do the trade? Absolutely not. But the value is realistic, and that’s all you can ask for when JA is involved on ACGM

Years, as he is in his third season with the Habs.... Guess we will just continue to listen to reporters and insiders about Anderson's value instead of random people spending their days on Capfriendly ..... I mean people on here have never been wrong about Habs player values, right?

Because they've been looking for that type of player for years, and as soon as they'll trade him they'll be looking for another one unless Slafkovsky quickly emerges as a high-end power forward. It's not made up, the Habs received solid offers at last year's TDL and GMs keep asking about Anderson's availability, but they didn't capitalize although I wish they did. I don't think his value is as high as some of my Habs colleagues say it is, but I could bet it's higher than most fans of other teams say.
