Don't think any hawks fan is gonna be mad about that Kane return but brace yourself for the Toronto fans.

Lmao, if they want Kane, it'll cost Knies and a 1st at LEAST. They can cope all they want.

the Leafs arn't giving up a 1st in a draft as deep as this one and Knies for an old ufa they cant re-sign, and if they were there are 5-7 guys that would be better uses of that value than a guy who is basically a power play merchant who is abysmal defensively

For me, it's not about fit or price or anything like that. Kane is a bad person, from assault a cab driver to the most recent example of his bs response to the Beech incident, he's just not a quality individual. And a club that prides itself on character and inclusion, I just don't see Kane as a viable option. Other clubs that don't care about public opinion will be more eager for Kane.

It's not going to happen, Knies just isn't going to be traded.

weird way to describe kane, the guy who scored 90pts last season without anybody on the team besides debrincat. He's generational talent who knows what it takes to win a cup, like it or not. As for his defense, thats not his role. His role is to play somewhere in that top 6 and produce as much offense as possible.

Isn't that a silly statement that Kane wouldn't want to move to Canada for few months? Geez he's from Buffalo and played for the London Knight in junior.

The four goal 2022 edition of Kane isn't worth nearly that much., from any team.

weird how? He has scored 11 of his 21 points on the power play while getting nearly 70% of his starts in the offensive zone. The only thing he knows about what it takes to win is to be on one of the best teams in the past 20 years for a long time. He isnt half as good as he was when he was actually a generational tallent, now he's just a small 34 year old skill guy who needs to be sheltered to produce.
And again, if the leafs are going to spend this many assets on a guy to make a difference, there are literally a bunch of better options that not only drive play and "know how to win" as well as he does, but they can do other things than score on the power play

I'm not gonna disagree with getting other players, fine. Lost of good players available.

But if you're gonna take a massive dookie on kanes performance this year, you might want to look into the factors causing that. he literally has 0 help on his team. His only reliable line mate is max domi (whos producing decently BECAUSE of kane). The hawks have basically driven every good line mate he's had off the team in attempts to get him to waive his clause so they can have a full rebuild, along with probably begging on hands and knees to him every week.

Throw him in that Toronto top 6 and see a difference. You can't write him off without looking at his circumstances. Of course he's going to produce terribly this season, he has his reasons.

I know you’re probably a closet Leafs fan (a lot of canuckle fans are) but I have a suggestion that might avoid conflict - spend your considerable intellectual powers fixing your own tire fire team.
Kane is a HOF player, but ageing and a rental - not worth anything near this

Yikes... is this the remnants of salt from never being able to pass the first round I'm getting tinges of?

Relax. You can simply say "Nah, this wouldn't work", rather than getting super defensive. Your poor leafs team.

I'm also not a fan of either? Where the hell did you get canucks LOL

dude, if you're gonna tout a guy as a generational talent, he doesnt get to rest on the "i have no help" stuff. Clayton Keller has no help, isnt a generational talent and produces better results at both ends of the ice without being near as sheltered. He's simply not that good any more, he's not worth anywhere near your price no matter how you slice it.

Keller's success might have to do with him being welcomed and comfortable in his organization, and not being forced one foot out the door.

My bad, reflex - just assumed Canuckles fan (Iforgot to check this time). A lot of jealousy of Leafs up here.
I guess I don’t understand posting about teams other than the one you support - I personally would never take the time but 🤷.
Just a massive overpay for Kane, imo. But you’re entitled to your opinion - my bad for being so aggressive

or maybe a magical space unicorn granted him the powers of Grognak after he solved the riddles three. Either way, Kane isnt getting that return.

You would have to take salary back for that offer to work.

Would you take Guirianov? You could flip him after to another team or resign him during the off season. He will still be a RFA.

The issue isn't going to a Canadian team necessarily, it's whether he will waive for a team that isn't a legit contender.

Unfortunately the return for Kane and Toews will end up being limited by their veto more than by what other teams are willing to offer. But, that's their right. It's in their contract and even if it wasn't, CHI owes them the courtesy.

A club that prides themselves on character??? Give me a break

Lupul, kessel, kadri, Luke schenn, nylander(when he sat out due to contact negotiations) ya sure a lot of class act guys there.

How about the class acts of the fans and management who blamed every PO loss on gardiner, anderson, Holl, kapanen, franson instead of holding their star players accountable for disappearing in PO’s every year.

What are you even talking about? What about Lupul, Kessel, Kadri, and Schenn? And how does holding out for a better contract come close to assaulting a cab driver, or helping cover up a teammate getting sexually assaulted? In what world are those two things equal?

As for the rest, fickle fans are not part of the organization. You do understand that right?
