Bo Horvat is a pure 100% rental, You're not getting anywhere close to those kinds of offers for a rental.

That Boston offer isn't a best case scenario, it's a PCP trip.

Did you read the description. I know these are optimistic and unlikely… that’s the point

90% of those teams couldn't afford Horvat long term, Like Colorado and Dallas so they're not giving up Byram and Stankover for him. Toronto isn't giving up Knies for a rental.

Bo Horvat more than likely will test free agency and go to the highest bidders. All of these teams would easily decline.

Most likely you’re right but there is still a small chance that one of these teams gets desperate and goes all in for a cup chase and admittedly overpays for Horvat. Not likely but possible

Ya that’s fair. Maybe Newhook would be a more realistic target

Newhook might be a slight chance but even then, it’s very very low. Avs are not reckless when it comes to making trades.

Homer fans on here upset at these proposals - isn’t this the purpose of the website?

Calgary
Kylington is a bottom pair D with an unknown injury who hasn’t played this season and Ruzicka has been a nice story this year, but he’s a Diamond in the rough and does not appear to be a top 6 forward. He’s also only 3yrs younger than Bo, believe it or not. The CGY 1st is likely 15-25OA. That would be a trade that VAN should not make.

Dallas
Stankoven, the Kamloops product, is a top prospect who dominated the WHL this season and last. He also looked fantastic at the WJC on a line w Bedard. Perhaps Dallas views him as untouchable.
But he’s 5’8 and an average-at best skater. More than likely, he moves to the wing. I do not think he should be the centrepiece that VAN targets. Again, IMO VAN should not make this trade.

How much CGY & VAN hockey have you watched the last two years if you think Ruzika, Kylington and a 1st for Bo is a win for VAN?
Not trying to sound like an jerk here, but in now way is that a beneficial move for VAN.

Not sure why Columbus is on the list. There's no chance they're gonna make a big trade for a rental center when they're in line to draft a significant center prospect right now. Only Horvat scenario that could possibly happen with them is signing him in the off-season if they feel the need to get another center still after the draft.

0 Chance any of these teams do it. In a bidding war, you'd need two teams willing to go to the extreme. None of these teams are going to consider this. Some of these are utter jokes. This is fallacy.

BOS declines easily. They are not moving Carlo at this point of the season, let alone for a C rental where C is BOS's least position of need right now.

The thing that some of these proposals seem to ignore is that contending teams aren't going to trade an everyday player at the deadline for an upgrade somewhere else on their team. To use the Boston trade as an example - why would the Bruins trade a solid RD2 in Brandon Carlo, one of their top penalty killers, for Horvat when they already have Bergeron & Krejci on the roster? Take Carlo off that roster and *maybe* you can slide Connor Clifton into his spot - but then you're going to be relying on someone like Anton Stralman for 12-14 minutes every night.

Teams aren't going to sacrifice guys that are playing every night if they're upgrading at the deadline - contenders are looking to add depth, not take it away. If guys have to be included for cap purposes, it's usually guys from the back end of the roster - like when Pittsburgh sent Dominik Simon & Zach Aston-Reese to the Ducks in the Rickard Rakell trade last year.
