Trading someone named Portillo to Chicago might be enough for Toews

Not sure this team is better now or in the future.

Ok…. I’m confused….
Bc your name tells me you are a Sabres fan,
yet your proposed trade for Toews is absolutely horrible for us
It’s a massive overpay for him- plus he’s a UFA after this season
Yikes

And idk if we should be interested in him even at the right price, as he’s declined quite a bit

Not sure if you're making a portillos joke but hawks already have a goalie of the future in Commesso. The 2nd and a decent forward prospect would be more than enough though

Until Buffalo is firmly in a playoff spot it doesn't matter anyway. But yeah this is probably too much. Hawks would be happy with a 2nd and a decent forward prospect

That seems much more reasonable for whatever team trades for Toews
I don’t think the Sabres would be looking to target him though

Murphy seems like a much more likely target
And I’d offer roughly the same thing u want for Toews,
a 2nd & one of our mid-level forward prospects

I think that offer for Murphy would work for the hawks too.

The hard part is getting Giordano from the Leafs.

Seems to me like it’s reasonably in the ballpark of what it would take
Obviously the Hawks are rebuilding
Hopefully u guys can get somewhat of a bidding war going on for Toews & Kane to get some good pieces for them

The title of the post seems on target - none of the acquisitions seem realistic with what Adams has constantly said will be his approach: no quick fixes or short-term acquisitions or rentals. He said they won't add older veterans so the Toews and Schenn targets won't happen; as for the Nashville deal, as much as I wish the Sabres would admit the mistake of signing Lyubushkin who they clearly are losing confidence in, I don't think Adams will want the publicity of kicking an UFA to the curb only 1 year into his deal. Maybe next season they deal him at the TDL before he hits free agency but it's hard to imagine they deal him now.

That Nashville trade is bad. They would probably laugh at Adams just before they hung up.

Or getting Lou Malnati to rise from the grave and play in the NHL.

Honestly, I don't even like most of the "famous" food places in CHI anymore. There are much better italian beef and deep dish pizza places. *COUGH* PEQUODS *COUGH* JOHNNYS *COUGH*

Portillo's, Al's, Malnati's, and Uno's kinda suck.

At least one of my favorites D'agastino is a free agent. Love the Dags. Johnny's for sure, Gio, Malnati, Portillo are good enough for me.
