Nah it's not ahah but what do you think of this 3-way trade ? IMO everyone get what they want
    NYR a cup
MTL Lafreniere (at a big cost but it's what it would take)
CHI get 2023 1st round pick & a good goalie prospect

I proposed a similar trade about a month ago. Basically got crushed by every team fans. https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/663108

MTL fans were angry giving Xhekaj and FLO 2023 unprotected 1st for Lafreniere, who they value close to Dach.

NYR fans are angry at every ACGM where their team is going all-in this season. They think they're ending a rebuild even with Panarin 2 years left and 31 years old Kreider.

Even CHI fans were mad getting only a 1st, even if it's a lottery pick. Personally, i'd rather have a top 15 pick than two late 1st.

If Montreal wants Lafreniere that badly, okay with me. As far as the Chicago return, they'll take a good forward prospect - Cuylle - in place of the good goalie and decent defenseman prospects.

95% of Habs fans have pink glasses and think Xhekaj is worth a 1st
I don't understand why NYR fans don't take the chance to win a cup at the cost of Lafreniere
CHI are getting a top 15 pick AND a late 1st AND two prospects

    Seems fair to me

I was going to put Cuylle but I thought they would rather have Garand

Chicago has a couple of decent college goalies that may sign this summer or next. They really need some forward prospects.

I was going to say exactly what boilermaker said. Pretty close overall though. Definitely think mtl is taking the biggest risk here but they could potentially get the biggest reward if they could turn laf into what he was projected to be.

How is it pink glasses to think one of the youngest NHL regular dmen who has good production, has 99 percentile physical tools including the ability to end pretty much anyone in the nhl with his fists.

Rangers fans think schneider is worth a 1st and he has been less productive, smaller less physical with worse analytcis both regular and relative. They are both 2001 born.

Drury better get fired if he makes a stupid deal like this. Team is not good enough 5 on 5 to win a cup. Kane alone isn’t solving that himself. God I hate the fact they signed Panarin and Trouba. Screwed up the rebuild completely. We needed to bottom out and instead this team will be stuck in mediocrity like the 2010’s no matter what stupid all in trades they make. Teams don’t win without the homegrown forward talent. Right now we’ve got none. This move ensures that. Tired of seeing this team trade for players based on what they have done and not what they can actually provide going forward. No shocker that you’re not a Rangers fan and proposing this.

So MTL gets Laf and Blais for a mid round 1st, fringe NHL defenseman, and a Q prospect (Q is the most uncertain of the 3 leagues for NHL success)
    lol

You realize Lafreniere was a Q prospect, right?
1st, decent prospect, $2.5M retention, and a promising defenseman isn't bad for Laf. If you give up on a top 5 drafted player, you don't usually get top 5 value for him. 15th overall +++ is a pretty good return in that case.

yes, exactly why Q prospects don't hold as much weight. he only just turned 21 3 months ago, I wouldn't give up on him yet for a trade like this

New York add PATRICK KANE & Max Domi for a run
Kreider & Panarin are 31 yo
Panarin will have 3 more years left on his deal
You are telling me it isnt worth the gamble going all in this year ?

Xhekaj fringe NHLer ? Get the **** out of here. He is a perfect 3rd pairing dman, and a unique one

Alright they might both be worth late 1st round pick, but I feel MTL would have to give a package like that to snag Lafreniere from New York
