If Montreal is really interested in Mantha, there better be picks coming back to take on that contract. He's been healthy scratched this year for his inconsistency. In no way should there be value there.

This is exactly what I've been saying all along. Mantha, like many other players who signed big money contracts and are underperforming, have NEGATIVE value. That doesn't mean they're worthless players. It just means that teams would rather have $5.7M in cap space than a player on pace for 38 points. There's just no way anyone is taking on that contract w/o additional, substantial assets. I haven't seen enough of Josh Anderson to say he has negative trade value.

If Kent was offered a 1st straight-up for Anderson, and said no, I would seriously question whether he is right guy for the job. Odds are, there were other pieces to that deal we are not hearing. Like heavy retention, other long-term cap hits to Montreal, Montreal picks attached to Anderson, or of the above.

Sometimes rumors are leaked in an attempt to increase trade value or stimulate interest. Obviously, JA isn't worth a 1st straight up. I haven't seen enough of him to say for sure, but I assume MTL knows where they are and what their long term strategy is. I can't imagine JA is part of that plan.

He is a righty Miles Wood. Big, bottom-sixer who relies on north-south, straight-line speed, physicality, shot volume and pressing defense down low. Little skill, not great going east-west or carry puck.

Sounds like he could be pretty valuable to a contender at the deadline. Just not at. that cap hit and with that term. Just way too risky with 4+ years remaining.

MacKinnonn's Shooting % is 6.8%. Pretty shocking for a player of his caliber. His career S% is only 9.8%. Most of the league's high-volume shooters have a S% north of 12.5%. If MacKinnon was shooting at just 12.5% he'd be at 24G this season. He has just 13G. Dude needs to work on his aim.

This is a **** tweet by Bacon. We never replaced Danault. The original replacement was Evans. Once KK got offersheeted and we didn't match, we traded for Dvorak. Dvorak replaced Kotkaniemi, not Danault.

I think he was trying to convey they should have kept Danault so even when KK was gone no need to go add Dvorak

I mean we had no KK and no Danault. We had Suzuki & Evans and that was it. It made sense at the time.

Don't think Poehling was ever that guy. We'd hope he would replace Evans (who replaced Danault) but both failed to do so. The 3C was literally given to Poehling in training camp, and he still lost his job.

I mean if u look at him vs. whose above its evident why

As ironically if there was a redraft he would probs be lower as Lundell, Mercer and Jarvis would go higher

Yep. He doesn't go top 10 in a redraft. He's looked good, but he's doing what was expected for an 8th overall.

I'm liking how this deadline is shaping up. It looks like it's going to be a sellers market. There's really only about 7 teams who will be hardcore selling. There are a bunch of teams in limbo that might get desperate and overpay trying to stay competitive and hopefully make the playoffs.
