My goal was to make the Leafs a tougher team to play against by improving the bottom6 and find a D man to pair with Sandin who could mesh well.

Liljergen seems to play good next to Giordano

That NSH trade is one of the more odd trades I’ve seen on this site

I don't know Fabbro is "tougher" than Holl. Fabbro plays 16m a game for poorer team, a poorer defensive team than the Leafs, Holl plays 21 minutes. You want better than Holl fine, but doubt if the more costly Fabbro is the answer
You could argue Trenin is better than Kerfoot, and he does have more term. But Kerfoot might be needed at centre this year so he might be needed.
Either way the Leafs are giving up way too much in the deal for doubtful improvement this year....especially the first and Grebenkin.

blue jackets may take it. but didn't they just resign jenner, so why would they trade him away?

The trades are fair but Columbus will never trade Boone Jenner it's been tried and he's the heart and soul and priced great for them. I'd imagine they think next season could work out a lot better for them than this one and with their lineup they're probably right.

I'd go after Boone Jenner too massively, Columbus on here usually jump in and tell you throw in Matthews and another first and they still won't do it

I'm always amazed that so many fans love mid to bottom enders from non playoff teams and think they are better than the Leafs top to mid players. My theory is they watch Leafs games and see ALL the Leaf players mistakes (Holl for example) but they see Nashville two games a year and those players make 97.5% fewer mistakes than the Leafs during the season.

You can't trade picks as far away as 2027, and the rest of that return to NSH is low value junk. The retention on the UFAs is curious too. If NSH is throwing in the towel and selling off pieces, they'd only be taking UFAs like that to help the buyer with their cap. Deadline sellers usually don't get or need retention on guys with no term left.

If the first for Jenner is in 2025, just go ahead and make that trade in 2025, because that's when he might be available. He signed an undermarket extension to stay in Columbus and be captain; he's not going to be available for trade one year into said extension. Sorry.

I like the Jenner trade but the Nashville one is straight up weird. Columbus should want to trade Jenner to have more picks and prospects in their system because as of right now, that team blows.

For Boone Jenner, start with a double-max-retained Tavares and add.

I gotta admit, if you throw in Matthews and another 1st the Jackets would "probably" accept.
