Not sure anyone would be willing to touch that Pageau contract. Not like he's a worthless player, or anything, but those miles seem to finally be catching up to him.

Regarding Chicago trade, comes down to can they get a second round pick for Domi without taking a cap dump? My guess is yes, they can.

I haven’t heard anywhere that the Avs are looking to part with Girard. Not sure he’s the wisest move for us considering how cramped our cap situation will be next year.

LMAOOOO touch his contract?? Fans are soooo soooo oblivious. Pageau is a top 3 faceoff man in the NHL, very good defenisvely, a fantastic penalty killer, and still prodcues decently on offense. Another team won't be able to "touch that contract" becuase there is 0 chance the Islanders trade him.

Also their "logjam at center" is not a logjam. One will move to wing which gives them so many interesting lineup options LMAO. My goodness some of you need to stop posting on here.

Avs decline that easily tbh. You got bad info somewhere, as they aren't trying to move Girard. They may move him if they find something too good to pass up, but this doesn't get there.

both the eye test or advanced stats will tell you that youre sadly wrong. I wish you were correct! But pageau is a player in decline. Nobody is paying a guy 5 million a year to win face-offs. Its a poor contract, but they also didn't pay him for now.

Chicago passes. I think they'll get a second for Domi anyway and the salary for the next few season is probably worth more that Bailey-Johnson swap.

COL 100% has not looked to move Girard at all. Totally made up. COL having C depth issues made up. Trading a 24yr old top 4 dmen for a 30yr old 3c with the same cap hit, yeah hard pass.

Hawks decline. Domi will probably fetch a 2nd straight up. And Salo doesn't come close to offsetting taking Bailey's $5m cap hit for next season. Hawks really don't need any more left shot D tbh. If you want Johnson and the Hawks to take Bailey, you'll need to take Salo out of the deal and pony up another 2nd.

Bailey and two 2nds for Johnson? I would do that in the off-season.

That would be an overpay honestly. In the off season with Domi out of the deal, it would be Johnson to Isles for Bailey and a 2nd. Hawks probably do that.

Oh yeah that's a no brainer for NYI and CHI.

Bad move for the Avs. If they want to overpay an aging middle 6 C, they can do so in the off-season.

I'm not sure what you're looking at but I'm sure there would be teams who would trade for him if the isles were actually willing to move him (which they definitely are not). He's averaging over his career ppg playing 3c on a team in the bottom 10 in scoring. He is doing this while playing an extremely defensive role taking 61% of faceoffs in the defensive zone to show. Not even saying this trade would happen at all but you're definitely undervaluing Pageau.

Uh, what?

Pageau is playing 18+ minutes a night, 3rd most for forwards on the team behind Barzal and Nelson. He’s also on the top PP unit. Maybe part of the reason the Islanders are a bottom 10 team in scoring is because they have such a guy like Pageau in such a prominent role.

The real issue with a Pageau move isn’t that he’s not useful. It’s that you have to pay him $5M through this season and the next 3. He’s an older player and he’s never scored over 45 pts. That’s a lot to pay for an aging defensive specialist.
