He was okay last year bad this one. Maybe they should stop firing that cannon at home games, he probably has PTSD from the death of his friend and teammate.

Well Elvis ripped off quite a few black singers including their dance moves which made him unique amongst white singers at the time.

Radio stations wouldn't play his so called Devils music at first. Women loved his look and became insanely delirious when in his presence.

Unfortunately drugs and alcohol took its toll and he died far too young. He just burnt himself out but his music will always stand the test of time.

Soon Kent Johnson will be nothing but a puck hound dog. Scoring all the time.

Theory #2 is it's the bad 1st year of a contract like Campbell.

I will say that his sv% is worse at home.

It’s funny, there was so much hype when he arrived, it was like the Wizard of Oz. Shortly after, it was all smoke and mirrors, the man hiding behind the curtain.
I thought he was a hothead when he got here, let his emotions control him, just like Ron Hextall did in the 80s/90s for the Flyers
In 4 years, he barely had winning season (more wins than regulation losses) the 1st year. Last 3 years were all losing seasons, and progressively worse.
His GAA went from 2.35 to gradually worse each year to 4.28 now.
His save % has gone from .923 to .873 now.
He gets so out of position continually.
And just does not seem to track the puck nearly quick enough.

That's Nick Robertson's current trade value.

5 shutouts in 8 games as a rookie was nice, but the defense was also better then. Some games this year he has literally looked like Mrazek, standing half out of the crease on a basic 2 on 1 leaving half of the net wide open and getting scored on. Every goalie has their issues, and now he's no Bob but Bob has still had probably the worst five hole of any goalie in the league since he's played and he still won 2 vezinas. Elvis has a lot of positioning issues that I just don't understand

He finished fifth in Vezina voting in 2020. He was one of the best goalies in the Metro at one point. And then in summer 2021 his best friend died literally right in front of him in a freak accident and the team fell apart as well. I don’t think it’s that big of a mystery what happened to Elvis.

Remember Steve Mason? 10 shutouts as a rookie?

I mean, setting aside the real life consequences of what happened with Kivi, something that you just can't measure how big of an effect it had, whether it's massive or negligible to Elvis' on ice performance since.

    2 things stand out

    1. The defense is far worse than when he was playing well. Aside from the direct impact bad defense has on a goalie, it's also gonna have a mental impact leading to trying to make up for it and leading to his often mentioned positional issues. I've seen a not insignificant portion of the fanbase call him a headcase, which is just completely insensitive, but he does have major issues with getting madly off rhythm because of a bad goal or 2 and just imploding afterwards. I can't think of how many times he's played fantastic for nearly a full period, only to give up a softie in the late 1st/early 2nd and just go disaster mode after.

    2. In all honesty, the sample size of his great play as a rookie and a bit afterwards was not all that large. Basically any goalie can look good over a sample size of that range, so as much as I like him and want to see him get back, it's entirely possible that he was just always gonna be a replacement level goalie or worse who happened to catch a nice hot streak early on.
