To get EP, you need to give up multiple elite assets. This would likely include KJ and Jiricek, then also picks and other smaller assets. You dont necessarily need a player who will be as good as EP, but you need a few players who could match up against him. So imo, it would need to be like:
Kent Johnson, David Jiricek, 2023 LA Kings 1st (lets say 21 OVR), Roslovic and Blankenburg

This still seems like not enough, but this would be my best guess at a blueprint

i really cant see any team that would give up a young C like Johnson and a top 5 overall prospect in Jiricek, plus a first and more, for anyone not named McDavid. i think thats a lil much

I think a trade for Petey would start with Jiricek

In my opinion, there is a small group of players in this league who just can't be traded. Guys like McDavid, Draisaitl, etc. would command a return so large that the trading team just can't justify giving up that much for one single player. I think that Pettersson has played himself into that small group of players with his play this season. By the time Allvin would actually be willing to accept a deal for him, the trading team would have to back out as it's just too much. These kind of guys hold more value to their team than anything they could get on the market, and it's just not really feasible for them to be traded. I think Pettersson's ask would start with two of Johnson/Jiricek/CBJ 2023 1st (assuming it’s not Bedard). Pick the two you want to move, then build the rest of the deal from there. By the time Allvin has a deal he likes, it would most likely just be too much for CBJ to be giving up.

No, and he isn’t worth it unless we fall out of the to 5 in the draft and even then he kinda handcuffs our cap space on the 11.5 contract.

EP40 is the future captain and is not going anywhere, if you want him it will be KJ, Jiricek and your (CBJ's) 2023 1st. Even if it's 1st OVR I dont think VAN would take it, EP40 is a Generational talent and has blossomed into the most complete player in the NHL.

This probably wouldn’t get him. Pettersson is one of those players that would absolutely gut your team if you tried to trade for him. Wouldn’t be surprised if the GM asked for both Jiricek and Johnson
