VAN laughs their asses off and hangs up on you. Even if you take Myers for one year, you aren't getting Demko without giving up Power or Cozens.

I'd rather watch Myers continue throwing blind, backhanded passes in front of his own net for another year than see another wing added to the winger abundance in Vancouver.

nowhere near as funny as you thinking Oloffson and a 2nd is worth a Top 10 goalie in the league lol

Dude, when Demko is healthy, he is one of the top 7 goalies in the league, Power or Cozens is a MUST, otherwise we aren’t even considering moving him

when he's fully healthy he's top 5

5. Demko
4. Saros
3. Sorokin
2. Shesterkin
1. Vaslievsky

and to be completely honest, when Demko is at his very best, he's the best in the league, I have NEVER seen a goalie play as well as he did in the bubble

I said top 7 because it lowered the chance of being attacked, but I think your list is very accurate, but I see it more in tiers

Canucks are not trading Demko any time soon.He is OUR goalie of the future. We have invested alot of time and development into him, were not gonna just trade him.IMHO.

When was the last time a GK returned significantly more than a first.

Let me start, that is not enough for a healthy 100% Demko.
He has played very well since returning to action but it is a small sample of games.
But let's break down the offer.

Taking on $6,000,000 of cap space has value.
Looking at other cap dumps, it alone has a value of at least a second if not more.
Taking two years of Andrew Ladd $5,500,000 AVV cost the Islanders 2 2nds and a 3rd.
So taking Myers should cost more than a second.

Olofsson alone is worth a bit more than a 2nd.
Then an early 2nd is included.

@Sabrebluehs you may need to add, but TBH it is not a bad offer and needs a little trweeking.

Did I say that? Or did I say the original poster was going to get roasted?

Just because their idea was bad doesn't mean yours isn't mind blowingly worse

HAHA ok so there is no use in arguing with you, a top 7 centre in the world vs a #2-3 D who has limited offensive upside, yes totally

This is a dream contract for Samueli down in ANA, only has to pay 1m and it takes up 6m in cap, he is still a useable defence man so he is a cap dump, but he is a cap dump in the sense of Nate Schmidt but not in the sense of Andrew Ladd, yes he is worse than Schmidt, but he is still a credible 2m, 3rd pair defender

When was the last time a GK returned significantly more than a first.

Now answer this: When was the last time a player was traded despite the team not wanting to trade them, and the player not wanting to be traded? Canucks have no incentive to trade Demko and Demko doesn't even want to leave so it is going to cost more than market value to pry him from Vancouver

Pettersson is a better asset than anybody on the Sabres. Don't even pretend that Power is on the same level as Pettersson

Some crazy takes in this thread.
1. Initial trade is really bad for Vancouver, that's not up for debate.
2. If players like Byfield was off the table for Eichel, Demko would absolutely not return Power or Cozens.
3. Demko is a great goalie when he's on his game, top 7 is pretty debatable. Vasilevskiy, Shesterkin, Sorokin, Saros, Hellebuyck and Ullmark are all certainly better right now. There is absolutely an argument for Oettinger. Then there is also an argument for Lehner, Markstrom, Skinner, and maybe even Vejmelka.
4. Pettersson is not a top 7 center, McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews, Draisaitl, Point, Bergeron, and Barkov, and Hughes are all absolutely better.

1. Yes
2. Fair but Buffalo was in the market to move Eichel, somewhere that the canucks are not at with demko
3. I have Vasilevskiy, Shesterkin in the top tier then Demko, Sorokin, Saros, Hellebuyck, Ullmark, Oettinger all in the same 2nd tier, then those last guys all in a 3rd tier. But I think that he would fall into that top 7 category
4. Pettersson is a top 7 centre I have 1. McDavid, (Large Gap) 2. MacKinnon, 3. Matthews, 4. Draisaitl, (another large gap) 5.Aho 6.Pettersson, 7.Point, 8.Thompson, 9. Barkov, 10.Hughes, (honourable mentions because of their careers and longevity) 11.Crosby, 12.Bergeron

Looks like they arent dance partners, it would have to be more than worth it for the canucks if they are going to move on a goalie as good as Demko
