Quoting: BUFF36
Gonna cost a bit more than a 5th
Quoting: rktkt66
Make it Murphy for Olofsson (50% retained) and a 2023 3rd.......
Quoting: Fjordy
Buffalo pass, we need retain 50% on Olofsson and maybe we return 2nd or 3rd.
Quoting: MisstheWhalers
...don't see the point of it for Buffalo either, even if Olofsson is a one trick pony its at the hardest thing to do which is worth more then a very meh pick.
Quoting: RoyalBlueSabres
How many 30 goal scorers are traded for a 5th
Quoting: BUFF36
How is he a 1 trick Pony, won't be a market for a guy that can pop 30 goals for you and add 20 assists. If you say 1 trick because you think he's just a PP specialist than you haven't watched him much the last few years. With being injured last year the last 48 goals he has scored only 14 have come on the PP. 21 out of his 28 this year were 5 vs 5.
Quoting: sabres89
His value is really hard to pin down, especially on a fan board where the home fans have made him a scapegoat. ...
Agree with every one above!
Why trade him for nothing just because the Sabres have prospects one, or two, or three years away.

But that's the 1 trick pony...
Fine, if you think the hawks do not want Olofsson, Buffalo cannot force the deal.
Buffalo would be foolish to trade him for essentially nothing.
Even if he were a "one trick pony" (which he is not), he does that trick exceptionlly well.
ONLY, 23 NHL fowards score faster than his 1.6 goals/60.
@Wadejos123 so while getting Olofsson for a fifth may be "Moves Id like to see happen" it is not going to happen.
Most of the Sabre fans above would like to see Tanev traded to Buffalo @ 50% retention for a 3rd also, but that trade will not happen either.
Unless Karmanos can get a decent return for Victor, he will be a Sabre as they have not only a roster spot for him, but sufficient cap space to carry him.
