Not if Brad Trevliving doesn’t give him that money.

Matthews must have a great agent, because Los Angeles was only going to offer him $14.2 million for 7 years.

This feels like trading Matthews just to trade Matthews, probably not what you’d ideally do. Value wise, Canes do it, but not realistic on either side.

Pesce for Nylander straight up…now we are talking.

Why in the world would COL do that? I know that all Leafs prospects walk on water but yeah that’s a hard no from COL.

    1. Thats not similar to Tkachuk at all. Just like with Severson, Florida paid premium for the 8th year. Any team can trade for Matthews as a rental and then sign him to an 8 year deal up until next seasons trade deadline. The value is probably not far off though as both Aho and Matthews are entering the last year of their contracts.

    2. You are definitely overpaying for Girard

    3. You shouldn't need to pay that much to dump Murray. Muzzin is on perma LTIR

    4. Nylander is worth more

    5. Lindholm is worth more

cap percentage means more than the number itself and that percentage will lower as the cap keeps going up

I get it, but its still high. I don't trust the NHL when it comes to future cap announcements. They have waffled on that too many times.

Can't see Washington giving up that for one year of Nylander. And Leafs certainly aren't giving two first rounders for a year of Lindholm.
Massive overpayment to get rid of Murray...who has a an easy buyout. Muzzin as long as he stays on LTIR means nothing for cap purposes
Yep, the trade is similar to the Tkachuk, but if Matthews won't sign the eight year deal with the Leafs, can't see him signing for eight years with the Canes.

Wish it weren't the case but I question if Robertson will be able to last in pro hockey. He either has the worst luck or is the most injury prone guy.
