Good deal, Kostin was good this year, I’d expect him to slot in well in Detroit’s middle 6

Seems to be quite a lot for a guy who plays in the bottom 6 (mostly 4th line minutes)

21 points on 4th line minutes is worth 2 mil.

Boosted by his finishing rate. He'll fall back to earth this year.

Expensive but worth it. He had some lucrative KHL offers already so a lower cap hit wasn’t in the picture

19% shooting % and 104 PDO.

FFs people I beg of this website to be a little better at eval

If you take Yamamoto's buyout into account it's 2 x 2,5M. I don't think the move is worth it.

And? Kostin still had a good year and is still a decent player, this is low risk, high reward, worst case, he regresses a bit and become a 3rd liner, that's still a good contract, best case, he continues to play good and the contract value goes up

It's only 2 Million so you're correct that there isn't much risk, but Kostin really isn't that great of a player. Regressing isn't 3rd line, it's 4th line or 13th forward.

Meh a little expensive but is a big body Detroit needed. Got pushed around too much last year. Low risk high reward if he keeps progressing

Good deal. Would like to see him get more minutes, especially as third guy on top-6 line.
