Steal today but if he keeps improving on this type of production, that is going to be a monster next contract. NYR with Miller and Fox will be a force for a long time.

K’Andre Miller last season:

9 goals (career high)
34 assists (career high)
43 points (career high)
61 takeaways (career high)
105 blocks (career high)
162 hits (career high)

It's Bo Byram deal 2.0. Another bridge contract for a cap-strapped contender trying to delay the big payment due their young stud blueliner.

Don't like the term, gonna be disatrous in 2 years when NYR needs to resign him. Was thinking they would go longer term.

Lindgren one year before that, and Shesterkin is up the same year as Miller now. But the cap should go up about $6-8 million by then so the Rangers can pretty much only sign minimum players or 1 year deals to avoid making the cap nightmare worse.

Well... damn. I was really hoping he would get paid a LOT more, because I truly hate the Rangers.

How do you know? You can’t just force the offer sheet. Player must sign it too.

Great that they got this done.

But man, no big money contracts are coming off the books before he needs a new deal, plus others will need raises in that same time frame.

Kick the bucket down the road, I guess.

I feel like Miller has been a lot better than Byram thus far, no?

edited to add: actually Byram played much better than I realized. Nevermind

I feel like one year longer would have been better to coordinate with Trouba's ending

This move is prob. all relative to how much better/worse you think he is to Byram... Pretty solid deal
