Canucks decline. Demko isn’t getting moved for anything. He’s a massive reason why the Canucks have been one of the best teams in the league this season, and he’s finally blossomed into a Vezina contender now that he has a competent defensive core in front of him.

Ugh no thanks.

A couple issues:

1) Demko is critical to the Canucks' success, so he isn't likely to move unless you blow their socks off; and
2) What you have going back to the Canucks is likely the cost of trading Jones' horrible contract.

So from the Canucks perspective, they get another OEL and give up one of the best goalies in the league.

Neither team makes this trade. Demko is too valuable to Vancouver and the draft capital is too valuable to the Hawks. Comesso is a year or two away and he's looking VERY good in Rockford

On top of that, they're not adding that many FAs. They'll build with prospects and fill the holes with FAs.

Way too many free agent signings. 13? Maybe 4. 5 at the most. And the Hawks aren't trading an almost certain top 5 pick for a goalie.

Demko doesn’t get you that package. Asking for the Hawks first is a deal breaker.

The trade is also getting rid of one of if not the worst contract in hockey.

Which doesn't hurt this team for the foreseeable future. No reason to move him just to move him.

And even if the Hawks agreed w/ your take on Jones' contract, they aren't trading that same likely top 5 to move Jones either. Hawks won't have any issues w/ Jones contract for at least 4 more seasons. No point in spending anything to move it now.

Congrats on destroying the rebuild and turning the Hawks into a middle of the pack team. You also have no money to sign Bedard. WTG

Not a chance in hell CHI does this. A hot handed goalie isn't getting any team to give up this much, let alone a rebuilding CHI Blackhawks team. We have goalies on the way. We're fine for now, and we will address goaltending IF and WHEN needed, which is WAYYYY down the road.

I think this trade makes very little sense; however, if you look at the full AGM the OP is trying to make a competitive team for next year. In that context, one of the top goalies in the league and unloading one of the worst contracts in hockey makes it closer in value for a top 5 pick.

That is a common talking point and misconception that is completely false. Jones does not have "one of the worst contracts in hockey". That is based on old data from a very small sample size of his on ice play. Not mention, CHI has zero need to move Jones contract, or any salary, for that matter.

This is ACGM. Look at the post above - there is not enough room for Seth Jones' cap on this *fake* team. That is what we are discussing here.

What does that even mean? Yes. This is ACGM. The point of ACGM is try to guess what is going to happen. Creating a trade proposal that is based on a false premise is completely pointless. So, me telling you and OP why it is false is completely acceptable and should be part of the discussion. Seth Jones is not a cap dump, therefore this entire ACGM along with your comments is pointless.
