Lmao you're being funny with that newhook trade. No reason for us to do that

Islanders would have to include their unprotected 2024 1st for the Habs to give them Newhook and take on JGP

Leafs would now like to keep their 3rd I’ve been told that’s an overpayment and it would have to be in the offseason but I love it

No chance Winnipeg does that. Bottom sixers aren't a need.

Lee is 33, making 7 mil per season for 2 more seasons after this one & on pace to record 27 points. Hawks probably don’t take him on for only a second round pick & defensively don’t send anything back.

Hawks probably decline. Doubt a 2nd is enough to take on 2+ years of Lee. Especially when he's being paid $9m for this season.

Still doesn't get it done. Habs just paid 31st and 47th overall for Newhook, their not even getting that value back and they're taking on a contract. Like I said, it would take the Islanders unprotected 1st this year to do the trade, not Torontos late first to do it

Detroit has enough depth after signing Kane. This trade adds one more forward for the press box.

AZ has no interest in trading 23yo RFA (in few years) 2liner for 32yo 2liner-easy pass

Is it fire Lambert or fire Lou? You have the same team next year (real life not above) AND the NYI somehow only have $5M in cap space already for next year despite the increase coming.

Maybe the FO values his leadership as enough to offset his contract. I'm on the fence but I'm leaning towards the Hawks accepting this offer.

Perhaps and his size would be a nice addition to the lineup but I think there has to be at a minimum one 1st round pick attached to that contract.

Hawks will need to spend to get to the cap floor again next year, they could do worse than bringing in Lee. The details would need to be ironed out, as the above proposal probably doesn’t get it done.

That's a pretty huge maybe. If one year of Bailey at a $5m cap hit cost a 2nd to move, gotta think 2+ years of Lee at $7m costs more. Lee is a better player, but his on ice performance started to fall off over the 2nd half of the season last year, and has not rebounded so far this year.

Those are valid points. I used to think I had a finger on the pulse of this rebuild then Kyle from Chicago traded a 7th for Perry's rights and a 5th for Beauvillier. I could see this happening or I could see the Hawks asking for more before pulling the trigger.
