Got a feeling hes gonna end up in VGK in a reunion with Barbashev

That seems like something the rest of the conference would hate. Lol. Vegas with another 200 foot guy would be miserable in a playoff series.

I was guessing Detroit? Perron goes back to stl with some excess prospects/pick. I’d have to guess these two gms would be among the most common trade partners currently.

Matthews needs 8 goals in his next 5 games to get 60 in 60... When was the last time that's happened?

Who are some of the best energy, sparkplug guys in NHL?

I am not thinking pests, fighters, hitters…but more of the type that is going full speed when the rest of the team may be flat? NJD has had guys like Miles Wood, Blake Coleman, Michael McLeod play that role in the past.

So who else fits that type of role? On your team or any other team.

Im biased but the Avs have a ton of guys that fit that description imo - the Wood-Colton-O'Connor line is extremely fast and Nichushkin + Lehkonen are relentless

McMann, Holmberg, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Rielly's stick and the fighters himself: Mark Giodarono

Pontus Holmberg gives 110% every single shift and has been a very underrated part of the Leafs bottom 6. Hard to find a night where Gio isn't working his tail off either

I feel like Will Carrier is probably one of the leagues best spark plugs

Since the trade deadline is coming, who are you expecting to be traded and where?

90% of Leafs fans must be happy; Nylander's already been traded

I'd put someone like Jake Evans in that role, Gallagher kind of, he definitely used to be one but he's fallen off (and his contract sucks)

That really should be at least a short suspension

I figured 1-2 games (at least)…but DOPS has been more lenient on head shots this year.

Parros strikes again

And Bettman's 11 page thing brings all this into perspective

They only punish when they feel like it. This should have been 1-2 games but nah they went oh he got kicked out good enough

So now players will go this is fine. I just get kicked for remaining time of game

I wonder if that's why Calgary sent him down

Wouldn't surprise me. May also be why he went to Arizona instead of somewhere else (Montreal).

I feel this perfectly describes Noel Accairi. Every shift is the same speed: full.

Oskar Sundqvist too, when that’s his role. Sometimes he has gotten more minutes where it isn’t realistic to play like that.

Maybe is interesting: once a skater is a certain amount of good (brad Marchand) they have to stop playing like this. If Marchands shot was awful and minutes reduced he’d be on this list.

Full quote:

“When you are struggling, I imagine you’ve asked every player. Now that they are feeling it. You guys are creating excess pressure. Us as a staff will go through that power play. We change things up, we met with individual groups tonight versus when you meet with all ten or eleven of your power play guys. We’ll go through the whole thing again and just try to get better.”

He didn't really blame power play struggles on media pressure.

(But the concerning thing, as a Devils fan, was that he didn't really have an answer to the question of why power play went from 1st in NHL to a 2-for-46 run)

Someone tackle this bit of game theory...

-- Calgary's pick is currently #9 (perTankathon) or #11 CapFriendly
-- If it climbs/stays to #11 or higher, I believe it is sent to Montreal.
-- If Flames sell off at deadline, its probably a good bet to be in top-10 and stay with Calgary.

So what would be the 4D chess move for Kent Hughes to block a Calgary sell-off and get a 11-16 pick as opposed to possible later pick next year?

(probably nothing...but its just-for-fun hypothetical...so give us some wild takes)

We are two weeks from trade deadline....and two NHL GMs (and multiple scouts) are at the Quinnipiac/Brown game.

Collin Graf is a big deal, people.

Guessing emergence of MINNY's RD Faber allowed for the Addison move earlier this season??
BF looks strong back there - poise, great skater, heady, ceiling must be #1/2...

Montreal can only take Calgary's pick this year if it is between 20 and 32. If it's better, we get into next year with all the permutations.
