Svechnikov and Orlov don’t belong here. Orlov is overpaid, but the Canes had to make a sacrifice to bring the term of the contract down. As much of a goal scorer as Svech is, his playmaking ability is incredibly underrated.

Aside from that, many of these players are just overpaid for what they ultimately provide. That being said, Crosby and overrated do not belong in the same sentence, especially when being used as an adjective. Despite his age, he is still a top 5 center.

For roughly half of his career so far he was playing in a very defensive league. And has always been above a point per game. Often well above it. He'd probably have around 1700pts by now if we removed his many injuries, covid and the lockout.

He's a machine at both ends of the ice, wins faceoffs in his sleep, his edgework is probably the best in the league, he's a top 10 player in the league in terms of raw skills but is also top 5 in work ethic. His puck protection skills are the best in the league, his longevity is absurd, he's got 3 cups plus over TEN individual awards (while competing against arguably the best goal scorer of all time) and you call him OVERRATED??

I’m thinking the same thing about Bouchard. How is he on this list too? Both defenders are crazy good this year, and have taken their games to the next level. To be honest, a lot of these guys shouldn’t be on this list though.
