This is literally just an updated version of the Eichel trade. I think if he gets dealt this will end up being around what the package is. I don't think that Winnipeg has the pieces but a roster player, a high level prospect, a first, and a second is a fair deal for both sides.

Yes... it's probably a little bit higher-end prospect and player than Eichel but that base for a trade it makes sense

Yes.. Eichel who needed Back surgery is close in value to a 25 year old Pettersson who is about to have his second back to back 100 point season and came 7th in selke voting last season..

He is worth more than M.Tkachuk was when he was traded...

I think that the Eichel trade is more comparable considering that they play the same position... and Eichel was pretty productive in Buffalo (when he was healthy). I know that you'll be disappointed with the trade package when he's eventually dealt because you aren't going to get a whole lot more than the eichel package... this is considering a few things

1. EP40 will probably only want to go to a contender
2. EP40 will have a de facto veto over a trade location
3. A lot of Contenders don't have the assets to deal for him (Off the top of my head the only two contenders with a good enough pipeline to deal for him are The Hurricanes and the Devils)
