I would hate to see Rads go after hearing all about how close him and Bedard are, but I think Norris is a shot worth taking.

True but the big question is can Norris stay healthy. 50 to 60 games a year at a almost $8M cap hit isn't ideal obviously.

The Hawks aren't taking on 6 years and over $50m in actual salary for a player who's had one good season and seems to be injury prone. WAY TOO BIG a gamble.

True but he is a very good player when healthy. It would be a gamble. and $8M now solves the cap floor issue, but in 4 years it causes the cap ceiling issue.

Hawks really have no cap floor issue. Once they re-sign Vlasic and Reichel, they'll have at least 3 roster spots open and only $8m to spend to get to the cap floor. Easily done in free agency. I'm not convinced Norris is an $8M player even when healthy. He wouldn't have players like Brady and Batherson on his wings in Chicago for three years in a best case scenario.

Is Chabot actually defensively responsible? He's awfully expensive to the cap and plays a position Columbus doesn't particularly need. Gudbranson is half the cost and plays an important, specific role.

I have to assume that Gudbranson for Chabot 1:1 is a joke.

Trading Norris to help the Hawks hit the cap floor is interesting however.

Your franchise has legit only like 2-3 players that are worth anything.

But lets do this anyway.

Mega blockbuster:

Chicago receives:

Brady Tkachuk, Jakob Chychrun, Josh Norris

Ottawa receives:

Kevin Korchinski, Frank Nazar, Lukas Reichel, 2024 1st round pick (top 1 protected), 2025 2nd round pick.

I have no idea if the value is even close but this is what I came up with.
