Blackhawks- Sens Blockbuster Trade

Created by: george2001
Team: 2024-25 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 25, 2024
Published: Mar. 25, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let's say the Hawks get the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft and want to accelerate the rebuild to take advantage of Bedard on a rookie deal. If KD wants, he can use the TB pick and one/two second rounders to move up if a top-10 guy drops. Sens decide to make a huge change after constant disappointment and would then have 2 top-10 picks, a mid-late 2025 first and two former 1st round pick prospects. Would Hawks/Sens fans make this move?

Hawks need to trust the rebuild. It'll take time. As they get better hopefully they can attract UFAs to come sign with them. I understand not all 1st are equal the #2 or #3 OA pick is a huge piece. You don't give up essentially (4) 1sts for 4 years of Brady.

doesn't make sense for Chicago and I don't think the Sens would even be tempted without that being 1OA pick

Definitely interesting, but I don't think Demidov or Levshunov is going to get Brady. Macklin on the other hand....

OTT is not going to help CHI speed up their rebuild while simultaneously setting theirs back multiple years.

Neither team does that. Hawks are way more than Tkatchuk away from turning the corner and giving away 4 piece to acquire that type of player at this point makes zero sense. Keep using these types of assets to take swings at talent until it starts to bubble up to the NHL level. Hawks are at the very beggining of that process with Bedard, Korchinski, and Vlassic being the first wave of needing another 2 or 3 similar infusions of talent. Sens are not doing this because a team with a lot of really nice young pieces doesn't subtract one for a gamble that they can turn 4 maybes into anything even remotely similar.

The Hawks have so many unproven pieces, it would be very unwise to attempt to turn the corner on the rebuild. If Nazar and Moore dont live up to expectations like Reichel did, then you've just wasted all of Bedard's RFA contract clock

If the Sens are game, I'm ok w/ this move for the Hawks. Not crazy about including Nolan Allen but adding Brady is worth this package to me.

That is way too much to give up for almost any player in the NHL, aside from a handful of guys. A move like this would be extraordinarily short sighted and premature. I would not be on board.

No shot the hawks do this. We just need to stick and pick at all our selections; trying to push the chips in for a big name, especially via trade, is just stupid
