If it's an option, would much rather the Jackets keep Laine in Columbus.

Don’t think the Sabres do that

After trading Mittelstadt, Krebs is first in line to get a shot at 3C
Another winger doesn’t help us at all

Flames decline the first 2 trades. They would have interest in Boqvist but probably not in Laine, he and Kuzmenko almost certainly block the trade too. A 3rd for Harris is probably fair but dumping Armia will cost more than a 5th and 7th

As for signings. Wolf hasn't earned more than 1M, Kylington probably only gets ~2M

OR we don't willingly sign up to blatantly lose a trade for absolutely no reason whatsoever?? Just a thought, wasting assets is not a good idea.

Being the team nominee for the Masterton when he has zero chance of winning it means nothing. He's a big slow bottom 6 winger that avoids hits. He's only useful on the PK. Maybe if you retained 50% someone would give you a 5th but he's certainly not worth a 3rd, let alone without retention

He's had a very decent comeback season actually, and he's the only player in our bottom 6 driving any play whatsoever. If the Habs were to retain half his salary next deadline I would expect a third in return.
Sure he won't win the masterton, but he's our nominee for good reason.

I'm quite sure both the Blues and Flames will happily keep their guy, thanks.

You just proved my point.

First off, where did I mention anything about the Masterton nomination?

The guy has been giving a LOT more effort this season and his speed seems to not be a problem anymore. He finally uses his body to his advantage and has been a great shooter/goalscorer. Not because his value was bad 6 months ago that it is now, and it is so much easier to improve value when a guy has gotten only a year left on his deal. He's played like a useful 3.5 million dollar player, which is what he is. MTL is going to be using him well next season, likely going to set him on the 3rd line, and first PK.

Don’t forget that he scored 16 goals in 55 games. That’s huge for a fourth liner. He is worth his contract as of now

That's a big fat NO to the Montreal and Columbus trades. The other two are just making trades for the sake of making trades all 3 teams involved probably turn them down.

Also Armia is also a plus 3 on a team that has a team collective +/- of minus 48 before tonight's game against the Leafs.
Being sent down to the minors woke him up
I agree he is totally worth his contract because of his strong defensive play, if he can repeat this offensive output next year he will be very valuable to the Habs

Other team's fans crap on Armia because he was sent down to the AHL but if they saw the way he has played since getting recalled they would know how valuable he has become.
That is why he is nominated for the Masterson Trophy

Zary is an absolute stud. I don’t care how well Neighbours has been in the minors, Zary has proven he can be a play driver in the big leagues and he’s part of the new core going forward.

Pospisil is untouchable as well, reminds me of another young Flames 💩 disturber. Kuzmenko has played well lately, and I’m willing to give him the chance to get better next season and bring back something more than what he could during this off season.

MTL has lots of cap space this upcoming off season and Armia has only a year left on his contract. Even if he didn’t just have a comeback season there is absolutely no reason for the Habs to pay assets to dump his contract.

Neighbours hasn't been in the minors for a season and a half now. He's got 27 goals this season, man.

Like I said, I'm confident both teams would be uninterested.
