<strong>He gets a $3,225,000 bonus if he plays 10 total games. </strong>
So his cap hit will end up at $4,000,000 (or he won't play at all).
Most of his cap hit will probably carry over onto next years cap though.

The best defensive bottom 6 guys play 18 minutes and shut down top 6 lines.
They also have 50% or higher in all of the above stats.
Blueger is just getting caved in for 12 mins a night.

So when he gets sent down (and I'm sure he will at some point).
<strong>He'll cost $150,000 against the cap</strong> (but ya'll will still freak out over 150k).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>I bet Matthews and Nylander get less. 9.5 and 13.5 will be what they get I bet.</div></div>
<strong>Why do you guys think Matthews will get $14,500,000 when MacKinnon just signed for $12,600,000?</strong>
- Their contract start dates are only 1 year apart.
- MacKinnon is outplaying Matthews this year, and he won a cup last year.
- The cap is currently almost exactly the same as when Matthews signed his last extension.
- Matthews has already vastly out earned MacKinnon for the past 5 years (by like $5,300,000 per year).
My guess would be:
- <strong>Matthews = $12,700,000</strong> x 8 (he pulls a MacKinnon to become the new highest paid player).
- <strong>Nylander = $9,500,000</strong> x 8 (he doesn't have a 10 million track record yet, but if he waits until next year he'll get it).

Toronto Has Tons of Cap Space Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>Okay so it is for 23-24? Then why are you changing matthews and nylanders contract?</div></div>
Dude I just changed everyone to a "created player" and:
- Modified their names to fit in a straight line
- Rounded all their contracts to $100,000
- Removed their left/right handedness
Mostly to make it look pretty for my OCD (it really isn't that serious).
However, even if every UFA on this roster got an extra $1,000,000
They'd still have $6,000,000 in cap-space next season.
And the Leafs having cap-space was my only argument.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>Well then, why didn’t you just, you know, build that team? The reason people are going to be very confused is you just chose to kill everyone’s contract, and do one for 23-24 instead of just doing 24-25.
That and the extensions are so utterly ridiculous that no one would ever think they’re extensions. This is just all weird. I don’t think you should be calling anyone silly. No one is going to understand what the heck you’re doing without explanation…..and with good reason.</div></div>
Your first paragraph doesn't really make sense.
And there are only 3 meaningful extensions.
$2,400,000 - Samsonov
$3,900,000 - Bunting
$2,100,000 - O'Reilly
I'm sure they won't cost $10 million more than that.
