Remember how kyper thought we needed to worry about an offersheet?

Extremely useful depth player with lots of energy that got banished to the minors for no apparent reason.

LETS GOOOOOO I had him pegged at 950-1M x2-3 , probably one of the leafs 2 most underrated players, hoping to see a lot more of him this szn

I think it was after he took 2 double minors in b2b games but yea wish he got more time in the second half.

Was talking to someone who knows his SHL coach and the message with him was

Hes a good player when he is fighting for a spot but when u let him get to comfortable the wheels fall off

Bourne even brought it up on another podcast

If he can channel his energy I can see him pushing 3C in the right circumstances like Mcleod did in EDM

Decent nhl depth player. Close to league minimum for 2 years. Can’t complain. Great signing!

I think the reason was because he was waivers exempt.

Nice signing, Holmberg should be a solid 4c/ bottom 6 winger.

Amazing contract for a guy who could become a regular in that bottom 6, he's earned a one-way. Hopefully he can carve out a full time spot for the leafs.

This is what you want to pay your 4th line centre.

Also, he has a fun name to say, so that's worth the bump over league minimum.

And then the Leafs picked someone in the first round that was expected to go as late as the third or fourth. Not a great start to the new regime. On the positive side, maybe Shanahan is going to get fired next summer.

Guess you missed latest reports after his playoffs many high ranking scouts said he was expected to climb and if u read the latest stats he's got numbers on par with many of the guys still available. Scouts can say one thing but often lists miss things. He was probs gonna be a high 2nd given the playoffs he had in finals

There's a tweet explaining it best

He was projected to go somewhere in the early-mid 2nd... before pick 40. If the Leafs saw potential, they took him.

They also don't have a pick until the 5th, so if the scouting department was really high on him it was at number 28 or miss out.

A point people seem to ignore.. I mean miss.

At first I didn't like the pick, but the more I look into him the more I like, he looks like he has a high ceiling.
I was hoping for Musty but he was taken so

That's not what I read. Perhaps my source just picked the worst ranking.

You can trade down. Although no one seemed to do that this year.

That’s what I heard, although that change was after all the mocks were in, around OHL playoffs
