Players I could see having bounce back seasons next year

Description
I only picked one player per team to save time. I know some of them will be unpopular but this is just what I think.

ANA- Rakell was not "bad" at all this year but I think we could potentially see him put up career highs next year.

ARI- Whether he stays or goes I expect a bounce back season from Hall 100% next year

BOS- this one really isn't a bounce back but I expect some big things from JDB soon, love the way he plays

BUF- Skinner is an obvious choice but I think it's more likely we see a great season from Mitts than Skinner returning to great goal scoring form on pretty much pure shooting percentage.

CAL- Obvious pick, he is too talented to have a repeat of this last season

CAR- Wasn't the best this year but I expect for him to return to solid defensive play next year, even if it isn't with the Canes

CHI- Just wasn't as solid as season prior, but I think Debrincat is good enough to have a bounce back in production

COL- No one really played horribly on the Avs this year but I think there is even more we can see from Rantanen next season

CBJ- Wouldn't be shocked to see him return to his norris level 17-18 season next year.

DAL- Wasn't as good as his rookie year this year, but I expect a BIG 3rd season out of him, really talented player.

DET- I mean, can't get much worse than he was this year lol

EDM- Don't get me wrong he still had an amazing season, but it wasn't on par with his previous two years, especially defensively, expect a bounce back there.

FLA- Wasn't exactly "elite" defensively this year, however he definitely has what it takes to get that back on track.

LAK- Well to say the least it was not a great season for Drew, but there is no denying he still has the talent at the position to be better next year.

MIN- Very good moving blueliner who I think shores up his defensive woes next year.

MTL- I am a big fan of KK, I still think he will turn out as a solid 2nd line C to a lower tier 1C, which starts next year with a solid season

NSH- He even said it himself, he needs to be better.

NJD- Not going to lie that it was a VERY disappointing season for Hughes this year but he clearly has the talent to be better. I think that starts as soon as next year.

NYI-Has regressed a little bit since his rookie season, but I think a new contract is just what he needs to get going again.

NYR- Another pretty easy one for me. Just like Hughes there is a no reason a player as talented as Kakko to be struggling two years in a row.

OTT- pretty easy pick here, was a very bad year for a player who I believe can be a solid top 6 option

PHI- It's hard to imagine anything but better play from Ghost next year.

PIT- I understand he was injured and is getting a little older, but he just didn't look like Sid out there at times. I think he still has a lot left in the tank

SJS- Even though he wasn't as close to bad as everyone is claiming he was, EK is still capable of much more in my opinion.

STL- Another player who isn't as bad as everyone thinks, but hasn't lived up to expectations. Some sort of improvement is likely next season.

TBL- Vasy is pretty overrated in general, but I think he will be more consistent next year.

TOR- Wasn't himself this season but fully expect freddy to be a solid starter again next year.

VAN- This was honestly my hardest pick but I will pick Sven because I believe he could be a solid 3rd or 4th liner on a team and obviously wasn't this year.

VGK- Was insane in 17-18 but has fallen off a bit ever since, still really like his capabilities and wouldn't be surprised with a strong season next year

WSH- I don't believe he can be an amazing 60-65 game goalie anymore, but I don't expect his extremely poor play to continue for seasons to come.

WPG- For being well known as the jets best defender, it was actually a pretty bad season for him. I have no doubt his elite defensive play will return next season.

While it has been bad, hes still been able to be a solid contributer, nothing compared to what he did in Ottawa though so I feel you there.

I'm rooting for Bobrowsky, just to see how many people suddenly forget all those "CBO" trades along with first-round picks (I'm predicting all of them).

Yeah I was thinking of putting him but I don't believe he was that much worse than he usually is, and I think Heiskanen becomes the Stars best player next year

I definitely don't see him doing as bad as last year, my only question is how much better. I don't see a vezina level season out of him next year but it would be cool to see. I think we could see decent play from him next year though. Just felt like Barkov was more likely to have a bounce back

Dumba over Dub for MN.
-Dub has been in a pretty steady decline the last 2+ seasons, the Wild's team defense has helped keep his stats looking better than his on-ice play. He did miss some time for a family medical emergency last season, so a slight rebound could happen but returning to a Veznia caliber goalie isn't in the cards for him.
-Dumba looked like his injury from the season before was still bothering him and lost all confidence on the ice and started thinking instead of just playing. The offseason (time off) should do him some good.
-Zucc is longer shot candidate, he was the square peg in the round hole last season for MN.

I agree Jones will be better next season, but I’d guess that Anderson has a bigger bounce back season going into bing a UFA next offseason. He was awful this year and hopefully can bounce back to what he was the year prior.

I was really considering putting Dumba in, and after hearing your arguments, I agree. I'll make that change.

I really think skinner will have a bounce back season

He will, he will go from 15 goals to 30+ and 60+ points, he was unlucky this year. I also think he needs to learn to skate normally some times, like normally he skates with his feet pointing the other way, while this can be great he sometimes loses his balance easily and I've seen him lose speed when he could rush by a player and he slows down.
Ive been wanting to make a team of players who don't play to their full potential, but other than Skinner and Johnanson(NSH) I can't think of other people. People with all the skill but do 2 many tricks or skate fancily and lose speed and power. Idk if you have ideas.

How would Heiskanen have a bounce back year? He was one of the best defenders this year. You can make the case for an increase of numbers in year 3 but it's not a bounce back 4 sure. He was their best defender this year.

Laine is one, very powerful and skilled with the puck if he would just focus more often. I don't think he has played up to his potential yet.

He was good but not as good as his rookie year, and I think he is the most likely to be better next year and take the biggest step in the difference of the two seasons. I stated that he didn't play bad by any means this year it's just that I see a whole lot more in his game.

I don't either...that's a good mention. If you have any other ideas @me 👍🏼 thanks. Defense is a hard one. Maybe Jonathan Drouin could be one.

Hey... He has been faaar better this year than last. He has better number is every statistic. Starting with Points he has 2 more in way less games, +/- (bad stat) but he is +28 from last year, Take aways, already more than last year 42/35, hits more already 40/34, Blocks more 84/71, Corsi went up, Fenwick is the same, on ice GF is 6less, on ice goals against is 36 less, and the most impressive thing...he started more in the defensive zone this year than last. And in a stat called defensive point shares he is second in the NHL...

He also had no center to pass him the puck all year.

As long as he isn't unlucky and has good players to play with he will have a bounce back year

I see Panik and Jensen having a solid year mainly comes they’ll be playing a lesser role and that will allow then to focus on just playing

Actually, Bozak has been slightly better this season than he was last season. He has been a solid performer in all zones. Although Faulk has not been near as bad this season as many make him out to be, he's the most obvious bounce back candidate for the Blues.

Thanks for the input, had a tough time deciding that one but makes sense so I'll make the change!
