Why would Toronto want to pay a 3rd just to move up 30 picks? Avs accept anyways.

I was trying to sign a RFA, it didn't work out and I forgot to remove the trades.

I’ll pass on Peitrangelo to be honest. I’d rather have Tavares.

Montreal would have nothing to do with that bullshat trade for A 30 year old tavares. Suzuki and this year first round pick alone have more value to Mtl then Baby Tavares.

And part of the expectation is that the Flyers, a team with a logjam at forward, will give two picks for a 3C even though there are three internal candidates for the spot next year?

Gotta find another team to dump salary.

Come on, that's not true. The value heavily favours the Habs. Now if you want to point out that they cant take in the cap hit you have an arguement but Suzuki and 9th overall for Tavares would be a win of a trade.

Not considering the situation in Montreal. The team isn’t built to win at the moment even with the acquisition of Tavares. Montr Will likely be competitive in 3- or 4 years and Tavares would be 33 at that moment and be starting to regressing. Suzuki will enters is prime years and the 9th overall will probably start to become a very good players. So no its not a good trade for Montreal at all and it would be completely stupid to accept that bullshat trade. Why not acquire a 60 years old Wayne Gretzky

With Tavares, MTL is a playoff team. Having him with a young Danault, KK, Drouin, Domi and Caufield makes a very good and youthful top 6. Tavares would fit in with the win now contracts of Weber and Price and make the team push for playoffs. Long run may bite us in the ass but if Tavares were to be traded I think this would be a discount for him

Why would you want to move our captain, who took a discount to come play here, to sign what will become a bad contract?

Maybe for a contending team but Montreal is a you g team with to many hole in their current line up to trade away those kind of piece for a aging centerman. tavares might have 5 or 6 good season and Suzuki probably 12-14 and all is prime season are ahead of himand he have a high ceiling so that would be dumb for Montreal to even intertain that idea. On the other hand a team that are ready to compete like the rangers or the flyers could use a guy like Tabares and would instantly be better but not Mtl

Okay, that makes sense. What about Tavares for something like a bunch of picks and a really good prospect to, say, Colorado, for the sake of the argument, and then offer sheet Ryan Strome, or Dylan Strome, or even Anthony Cireili?

Why wouldn't Montreal want him, they are trying to win while Price and Weber are still good and just two years ago they were one of the top teams trying to get him, not to mention having an abundance of center's so they can give up Suzuki.

Montreal could want him but not at the cost of Suzuki and this year pick. Tavares is 30 and will likely be on the decline when Mtl team will be at maturity to likely really be a contender. Even with Tavares Montreal is still a Bordeline playoff team. They have to many hole to fill and likely the you g core will growth together. Acquire him on the market for nothing or mortgaging the futur isn’t the same thing at all considering the position they where at the past 3 years. They aren’t in a win mode has you seek to think but in a rebuilt. A team who is in serious contention like Colorado would make much more sense. Giving primary young assets is less a concern when you are right there with the real contender.

Why would MTL do this? They shoot themselves in the foot with an aging player tied to a crazy contract who's already showing signs of decline. We already have a guy like this and his name is Carey Price... don't need an other one.
