Fair trade for MTL but this isn't the direction we are going
But Weber and Price would enjoy big time this trade
Tough call

EDM should be adding considerably more, if they're unloading Neal on NSH.

I've kind of been wanting to suggest that the Preds should maybe look at trading Josi, but I really didn't want to deal with the push back lol. The reactions toward the trade on here really reaffirmed that idea for me.

It’s all in fun but if poile was looking to change and get younger trading josi could be a huge haul for a rebuild/retool. This is a draft in my opinion to do it. A lot of potential in this draft

I still think the habs are trying to compete And I think getting Ekholm would make that defense solid to do that and make price even better as well

Take out the Edmonton deal completely imo, I’d rather have Josi than any of that if you’re trying to win. Gives you like 7.5 mil to play with in free agency too if you cut the roster down to 22, which gives you enough to tempt a guy like Hoffman or Toffoli.

Exactly my thinking. I know this wasn't an overly serious post, but I just can't help but think that NSH could really get the jump on a good rebuild here. If Poile doesn't think this group has it, I really think now's the time to pull the chute.

How does anyone think that's good for Edmonton?
As good as Josi is he isn't worth that.

Even with the retention I don't see the Jets trading the 10th overall pick for Johansen, maybe the 2021 1st
top 5 protected or something but not the 2020 1st.

You can probably offer sheet Cernak from TB, but by that point they'll absolutely match the Sergachev offer.

It was originally only 2 1sts and no Yamamoto.

The value's probably there. Personally I'd rather get a good RD prospect than Yamamoto, but that's just me. Looking at this roster now, I don't think I'd OS Sergachev. MTL likely matches that anyway. Just sign Edmundson or someone similar as a stopgap for 2-3 years. There's a lot of talent here, but I think they're collectively too green to be a very good right now. Hold onto those picks you would have used on Sergachev, trade Forsberg for a haul as a deadline rental in 21-22, and be patient while some of these young guys develop. Fill in the holes with experienced vets, when the youth movement is ready to blossom.

Yea there's zero chance Oilers make that trade its basically 6 first rounders. While Josi is great his 9M cap and losing a bunch of depth and first rounders isn't going to help the Oilers
