Report posts if you feel they are trolling or being rude.

We get very few reports, it would help immensely to remove the trolls if you used the report feature.

Description
I get that people make silly looking trades and scenarios but people is it really worth being incredibly rude to them?
I've seen people literally shred each other over a virtual trade!!
If you're going to critique than critique, if you're going to be a know-it-all a**hole than either leave the site or do not comment.
Did anyone ever take into account that people sometimes do this for fun?

It's really hard not to I'm bad for it I admit. I can only see so much junk traded for good peices over and over and over so many times. What really sets me off is when people critique " rudely " with out doing any research. I know it's fun how ever I'm a really passionate fan as most of you are too. I think it's the love of a team or a player kinda like some one stealing your girlfriend lol that sets a lot of us off.

I can understand that. I don't think it is being upset or voicing displeasure about a trade that is the issue, but telling people they are clueless, or idiot, or a joke etc. I think is a bit harsh. Not saying that's you, I'm speaking for everyone in general.

I'm sorry for "pretend" trading Nash's cap for the next two years. I don't know what I was thinking. At least your only part-time. Lol. This is fun

It's hard to tell if some guys are trolling or actually serious. It's seems obvious but then you think, is he serious? I'm never rude to anyone but I'm honest. I don't really care to get chirped at all. I prefer it to be well thought out but it's all part of it. Take care out there. Lol

There's been a few things I've seen where I want to just type "ARE YOU FIN INSANE"? I get chirped once in awhile, and try to ignore it. I try not to bash others teams, but I probably come off like I am in some responses. I'm an adult and ignore most of the crap. I will read some of the chirps threads as a guilty pleasure.

cheers

Some of the armchair GM posts are completely ridiculous, and there's nothing wrong with pointing this out. The title of this topic worries me; already way too much censorship on fb, twitter, etc. This is a hockey site -- people should be able to chirp each other without getting butthurt.

This might be the best post on here! I chirp a little too...just being honest. I do try to back things up with support...stats, NHL cba, bonuses, etc... and palhal is usually a nice guy. I can't claim to know the scenario above, but he's a retired guy from TOR that just loves hockey. Maybe he had a drink or two in him?!?!?

I've been waiting to say this, but didn't know the right time.... My name is Bigbrit and I make fairly outlandish trades on here sometimes to see someone's opinion on how far off the deep end I've gone.

I feel like a new man now that's out of the way.

Actually it's mainly because you act pretty rude towards a lot of others. If you want respect, you should give it more often.

I'm old school, I don't like to type. But I feel the need to debunk myths, before they drive me nuts! Especially own fan base.

Gotta agree here. Its one thing to be offensive and condescending (Guilty as charged at least one time Confused), but if you can't take the heat than get out of the kitchen. If you post something to the internet, then we as readers have the right to post our displeasure with it. Albeit without being an a-hole about it. So absolutely call someone out on a bad trade/signing etc but keep it within the realm decency. For those who do this just for fun, you don't have to post the team to the site you know right? You can leave it in your queue of AGM's without exposing it to the world, But If you don't care, then post it but as long as people are civil about it, they have the right to rip it to shreds if they think its bad.

Also for all of the negative Nancy's, condescending a-holes and "babies" who can't take harsh opinions for valid criticisms:
Being a GM/trading players is hard. Its normal that there is a lot of criticism. GM's tell us every day that its hard to make trades and we scoff at them thinking we could do better. This site is proof, that we aren't any better and trading is really hard.

At the end of the day, we're all just hockey fans, talking hockey.

Banks, what constitutes trolling though? Serious question. Unless incredibly blatant, it's totally up to the forum readers perception. With that said, the person in question may not be trying to troll but is just not AGM savvy or is hockey ignorant.

OMG did palhal finally lose his marbles? Did i miss something? Dang it Banks, at least let some of us get our laughs in before you start taking down posts! laugh

All jokes aside though, love palhal's contribution to the site as it makes for good dialogue and many times he's (generally speaking) right but he does take it to heart a bit much. Lol he definitely needs to choose his battles better. Some AGM's are just not worth commenting on. Sometimes the temptation is just too overpowering. Clearly when you have over 5K comments LMAO

This is an informal definition of trolling:

"Make a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them."
