For Dallas I'd add Oettinger because if we trade him chances are we are stuck with the biggest injury prone goalie and .800 SV% AHL goalies.

Why not just say any player buffalo thinks they actually want in return for Eichel? If this is the case I’ll save everyone the trouble, he doesn’t get traded at all. If Buffalo won’t get what they want in return he doesn’t go anywhere. Once he gets healthy and the team starts playing well he might just change his mind anyway.

Eichel likely holds more value than half the players on this list

We've been waiting for the sabres to play well for a decade. He wants out. There's nothing of less use than a hockey player who wants away from the organisation he's with. He has the option of just not showing up and forcing his way out. It's a buyers market for players who want out. Buffalo will get a selection of what's offered, but they won't have the leverage to demand anyone.

Caufield is the Canadiens only untouchable, Suzuki and KK would have to be massive overpays (like 1 for 1 in exchange for Eichel overpay), and Price is untradeable (because of his cap hit, NMC, and meaning to the fanbase).

I think you should add Hughes, Blackwood, Smith to the list

Fitz has said in interviews that those 3 and Nico are untouchable.

Obviously Buffalo would want Jack or Nico in exchange for Eichel which is understandable, but the Devils won't be trading any of them

More than half the names on here have no business being on here. Some of them wouldn't make sense for the Sabres to target (older guys) and some teams wouldn't necessarily target Eichel (Leafs, etc.) but if we're truly gonna list untouchables for Eichel you have a few goalies, McDavid, MacKinnon, Draisaitl, Matthews, Fox, Makar... and that's probably just about it...

I do find it comical that teams that would like to add Eichel actually have a prospect or player they would not include. Jesus the guy is a legit top 10 player in his prime. The only thing that should give teams pause if he’s injury is worse then expected. Otherwise pony up 🤷‍♂️

No way Marchand or Ovi is traded for sure. Fabbro and Hronek I think would be off the table instantly but maybe they are traded for the right price, and I think that CBJ and CHI won't be looking to trade Toews or Jones

If the Sabres for some reason asked for a 34 year old UFA unsigned, you would say no?

I’d be willing to move Gibson if it meant we don’t have to move Drysdale or Zegras

Like way more than half the players on this list need to be removed. To put it another way, Tkachuk is more untouchable than pretty much everyone on this list and he's in Eichel rumours. Guys like PLD, Hronek, Fabbro, Tarasenko, Hischier, Byfield, etc. have no place being listed as untouchable for Eichel even if you account for his injury concerns.

This sums it up pretty well too. I'd likely add Petey and Aho (because they have both shown top 10 centre upside as well, and are younger/cheaper respectively) and maybe Kaprizov to this list. Vas and Helle are probably the only untouchable goalies.

This amuses me, imagine thinking Montreal doesn't add significantly to Suzuki or KK lol

You’re wrong about one thing. He can’t just sit out, he has a contract. If he’s been cleared to play he has to show up. Otherwise he gets sued for breach of contract, ask Alexei Yashin how well that works. If you mean not try, that’s not how you make anyone want to trade for you. If he wants to go somewhere else he has to show he has value. If he plays well and still wants out teams will have to match the offer with Buffalo’s asking price.

He can just sit out in a lawsuit for medical negligence with Buffalo's mismanagement of his injury. He's got every right to sit out. Buffalo will not get to set the price for Eichel. They will need to accept the best they're offered.

I'd say Kaprizov could be included and maybe Aho but Petey should be available if Vancouver wanted to make a play. Never turn something that is into something that could be... makes me think of the Family Guy episode where Peter chooses the mystery box over the boat because "it could be anything. It could even be a boat!" Lol I think the Rangers would have Shesterkin on there too which I don't blame them for since he's been solid.

It's not mismanagement when both the team doctor's and his second opinion doctors sided with rest and rehab. He's pushing for the surgery without official medical backing.

I’m not sure how well-informed you are of the entire situation. He wants a neck surgery that has never been performed on an NHL player, and the professional medical staff for the team (comprised of some of the best medical team members in the country) Believe it is too risky and unnecessary to his rehabilitation. The average person who has received this same surgery says you’re not the same afterwards. All indications seem to suggest that regardless of the treatment plan he’ll be ready to play when next season starts.

Unless you know he will resign with you no. And even then you would trade him because the fanbase would explode.

It's medical negligence. He's entitled to pursue whatever treatment he feels is best for him. Not allowing him access to it when it's completely legal is neglect and against the law.
