Why would he not just sign his QO every year until he’s a UFA?

I’d rather get payed 4 million than 2 million the Habs want to give me, let’s roll!

It was probably what Waddell and KK planned for. Sign a 1 year OS that MTL would struggle to take on, then sign him to a longer term deal at less term if it’s not matched. There’s no way he can think he’s a 6 million dollar player at the moment. There’s some Finnish guys on CAR so maybe he already liked the idea of going there (Aho, Tero)

Per Georges Laraque, Kotkaniemi has already agreed to a mid-term deal of around $4M AAV with the Hurricanes if the offer-sheet is not matched.

So if we match everyone saying cap problems next year is kind of wrong since 4mil AAV with some term is a fair deal as long as he’s willing to do that deal with Montreal

Since there’s a couple of Habs fans on here, what would be the value of Drouin 2 million retained?

Just a reminder that this is also the guy who said Danault to Vegas, so take it with a grain of salt.

I have no freaking idea. It’s an enigma to what the rest of the league thinks of Drouin. He’s had a few weird years, with the injury after he was lighting it up in 19-20 and last year he seemed to be lacking confidence, then took his personal leave of absence.

I think for us to have any semblance of his value or any team to want to acquire him, we’ll need to wait until a good chunk into this season at least. Also, there’s no way the habs retain on Drouin. If they do end up trading him it won’t be their first choice, and it’ll be his full contract.

More credible insiders have made worse mistakes, it happens all the time.

Jonathan Drouin has said he's certainly ready to play center this season if need be.

Shane Wright season.

Probably like a 2nd or something, hard to guess, imo Drouin is untouchable since he’s coming back and willing to play C, value to us is high but other GM’s probably don’t value him too much

I’m saying Drouin is probably more valuable to us than other teams

Eric Engels says all signs are pointing to Kotkaniemi being let go and expects a move for Dvorak in the next 24 hours.

I would just like to put it out there that like Drouin, I am also willing to play centre for Montreal. I had an 80%+ faceoff win percentage in my last year of midget hockey so I can probably handle it

What are the rules Pronman’s using? Ferraro’s been full time for 2 years now…

Prospects + 23 under = Pipeline for his article thread

So Knyzhov would be there but he’s 23 for example

What did you expect him to say? “No actually if my coach asks that I’ll shut him down and refuse to play where he asks me.”

Ducharme is dumb, but he’s not that dumb.
