I don't understand why people think Quick's contract is a burden for a team with a full roster (i.e., set for training camp) and more than $2.5 million in cap space. It's not like we're going to be trading for Jack Eichel. And as to "bad contract," despite the $5.8 million cap hit for his last two years, we only pay him a total of $5.5 million in actual cash for those seasons. Bottom line: we're fine with him as our "backup" goaltender. After all, he DID have a 2.86 GAA last season and won more games than he lost on a team that didn't.

That was so cringe. Pettersson is not on a bad or horrible contract. Hes 25 and had one down year cause of Covid. Hes notnthe onlynone who had a down year and it's not his fault.
