I am gonna use the Arvidsson trade as a comparable, Olofsson is probably worth a 2nd and a 3rd

You would think contending teams that would a push for the Cup would be interested in Hertl, Getzalf and Forsberg due to their playoff experience and UFA status.
Leafs acquistions in the past few years closer to TDL have been poor value.....not saying these guys would. My preference would be Getzalf

i rlly dont wanna see us fork over another 1st for getzlaf. if we send top assets i would at least want it to be a real top 6 forward

I don't think Buffalo trades Olofsson. They had 3 of their best players demand to be traded so I can't see them trading a player that wants to stay in Buffalo. You could be right about Olofsson value but given their current situation there is little chance they let him go for just a 2nd or 3rd.

Highly doubtful Columbus moves Robinson, Jarmo loves him as a player. I also missed it, or forgot it but he does have a 2 year extension with Columbus already.

who says he wants to stay in buffalo? he wouldnt even fit in buffalos timeline since he would probably be exiting his prime if/when they get good.

Detroit:
Bertuzzi - Likely not getting moved unless it's an overpay
Fabbri - As a pending UFA on the younger side, he could fetch a first/second and/or a prospect but it depends on if he's healthy and performing well
Namestnikov - Third/Fourth rounder
Suter - No idea, I'd have to see him play in Detroit first. Unlikely he gets traded this season, or at all really

Toronto was interested Bertuzzi according Elliotte Friedman and if the 2 sides were close Bertuzzi would probably be in Toronto now. Unless he completely S***s the bed I seriously doubt Detroit trades him. For the first time in a few years Detroit will start the season with 2 competent centers.

The Detroit players most likely to be traded Namestnikov, Fabbri, Leddy, Stecher and Greiss.

Maybe switch out Abramov for Hirvonen and the third for a second and it's possible. But it's gonna have to be a pretty big overpay, so to entice Yzerman you might need to find a way to shove Amirov or Robertson into the deal. The main problem with a Bertuzzi trade is that he's... not really on the trade block. He's also a very valuable asset to the Wings in particular, making it much harder to part with him for just an average return.

Who says he doesn't want to stay in Buffalo? If he really wanted out he could've demanded a trade like the other players. This would be the best time for him to demand a trade because he would face the least amount of backlash since to other players being traded are more established and quite a bit better. I don't put much value into the time line argument especially when it's that close. There are plenty of good players that didn't win their first cup before hitting 30.

Typically Rfa’s don’t demand trades. I don’t think they have any motivation to move him if they aren’t getting a good piece back for their rebuild.

I don’t think he is a very good target for the leafs. He is more of a passenger. For the type of money it will take to re sign him it’s just not a good fit.

No, you can't.

Your fanbase is not willing to pay equitable value in trades.

Just a wee little Ker-foot tis-all it'll cost, like every other Leaf ACGM, now that Bracco is overseas..

not true. reinhart, georgiev, bennett, mete come to mind. i dont think it will take that much to resign. maybe a guy already with term would be better

That's fair. For what it's worth Namestikov and Fabbri are the only two that could be had for fair value. Detroit isn't trading Suter after just signing him and Toronto would need to pay such an overpayment for Bertuzzi, that it honestly wouldn't be a smart move by Dubas.

As for Fabbri, I can't see him being traded anytime soon, so deadline at the earliest and even then, it depends how he's doing and the return. Fabbri-Suter-Bertuzzi were unstoppable in London and if they can regain that chemistry at the NHL level, it will be hard to rationalize breaking that line up.

Namestikov could be had for a 2nd or maybe even a 3rd.

Looking at your DET choices:

Bertuzzi deal would definitely start with a 1st round pick, a prospect, and another mid-round pick. The problem with the prospects is I don't think Abramov or Amirov move the needle that much. I'm not sure TOR has the horses to do a Bertuzzi deal. I think Sandin would, but that should be a no-go from TOR.

Suter probably doesn't have any value, but CHI could have easily gotten a 2nd + 3rd last year. But, with the previous chemistry in Guelph with Bertuzzi, Fabbri, and Suter, I doubt anyone of them could get moved unless it blows up in Steve's face.

Namestikov would be moved for a late 2nd/early 3rd range pick, especially at that salary. He can plugged in the middle 6 and not be out of place.

Fabbri might be a little more available, but I would suspect it would start with a 2nd rounder + (or a 1st rounder by itself, because it'll be pretty low).

Here are a couple of trades that I would do for Olofsson:
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/505471
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/509329

The first one is an over pay, but the two are close in value.

I know Olofsson has been quiet, but he is the same age as Ristolainen and will be 29 or 30 before the team will be in the hunt.
Move him now to make the Sabres bad AGAIN,
