I'd like to thank John Doe for having the courage to stand up to some very powerful people in his pursuit for justice. Hopefully, because of his actions, future victims of sexual assault will have the courage and determination to do the same. I cannot imagine what he's gone through. And no amount of money will make it right. But, some semblance of justice has been served today. And hopefully there's more to come.

The report kept the player anonymous but basically exposed his identity in a way.

I just read some of that report. I don’t think that is age appropriate for me yet

I'm not even going to bother, the quotes and resumes are what I'll read, I'm not reading 107 pages

There’s also a former coach that voiced and went on record to help start the case. If anyone can find his name (I’m trying) - he deserves some appreciation

You can just read the Executive Summary, which is an outline of the entire report. It's like 2 or 3 pages.

Go to my comment with the Jenner and block link; start at page 27 if you want to understand how terrible these allegations/ investigation truly is. Once you start reading you kinda can’t stop. It’s disgusting (in a terrible way).

Yes. He deserves to be recognized and appreciated. Doing what he did, essentially defying the powers that be, couldn't have been easy.

Isles are really going to pay the guy 1.1 mill to play in the AHL for a majority of the next 4 years

Most victims never tell anyone. They live with the secret.

Yup, sadly. For people who have never experienced it it’s easy to say “why didn’t you tell anyone???” But these people go through such crazy mental stress that we don’t even understand.

the guy is John Doe, he doesn't want to be named and as such we should let him be so there's no way to tell if he's still playing

I think the Hawks punishment should be;

- Add an 8 million dollar MINIMUM addition to the fine
- Suspend/ Ban parties involved
- Remove 1 first round pick and potentially a cap fine (is that allowed, reducing a teams cap with dead cap)
- CHANGE THE NAME, while you're at it

to your suspend/ban parties involved, anyone who was named by the report not currently employed will have to meet with Bettman before having the possibility to rejoin a team's staff, for those on an NHL team ( Chevy and Q ) they'll have a meeting with Bettman where he'll ( let's be honest ) force them to quit so it's pretty much already done.
I don't see why you'd remove cap space from Chicago or picks, the team ( and i do mean team as in players ) did nothing wrong ( do not take this out of context ). Since it was the Organization that did something wrong, i do agree that it should have a bigger fine.

I mean I would say the article is 18+/ rated R to put it into simple terms. Probably whatever above rated R would be.

yeah prolly would be a good idea to avoid then

Changing that name is a different thing.

If the owners didn’t do anything, I don’t see why an organization that purges themselves of any trace of this should be that punished. They didn’t know about it, so they couldn’t have done anything more than they already did. I mean having Stan Bowman running the team for 11 years was nearly punishment enough. Sticking Out Tongue
