A guy said on Twitter that Toews and Kane being on the Covid protocol is to make them unavailable to be questioned about this whole report.

I disagree with this take, for the simple reason that they can be contacted via phone, mail or text, and they can always be asked about it in a few days or weeks, whenever they get out of the protocol

I'm curious to see what happens to Jeremy Collitan now that the Hawks have changed their front office. Is he more or less likely to keep his job? Personally, I would replace him immediately. But, I think that's not likely right now. I think the Hawks will look to stay quiet for a while. But, this season is quickly slipping away.

Understand you're point of view from this but I don't necessarily agree - the inaction from the organization should warrant some sort of deterrent punishment. They knew about it, essentially rewarded the guy who did it (Aldrich got full pay after he was let go, got a day with the cup, his name on the cup and a ring, Quenneville essentially gave him a glowing writeup despite knowing what he did), and did nothing about it until they absolutely had to 11 years later. Some rando mocking the guy over the assault 4 years after the fact doesn't paint a great picture of the organization. Honestly I think the problem runs deeper than the handful of executives from that meeting, and those guys stuck around until today.

Also - it should be a matter of setting a standard. The Devils got their 1st sent to the end of the draft for cap circumvention. Arizona lost their 1st because they were illegally scouting players. Don't think either of things are on the magnitude that this is so it'd make sense to reprehend the Blackhawks.

Even if it's just the 2022 or 2023 (whichever one Columbus doesn't receive) would be fine. Locks them out of getting a marquee player.
